Chapter 1: Wireless Security Overview

The first chapter in the overview section presents the early motivations for wireless communication, as well as the security risks it can impose on businesses. A brief history of wireless technologies is given, as well as a summary of advances in wireless security. An introduction to the regulatory agencies governing the RF spectrum is also provided.

Chapter 2: Radio Frequency

Chapter 2 covers the fundamentals of any RF-based communication system. It also includes detailed explanations of technical terms such as gain, efficiency, and antenna polarization. Once these concepts are explained, various flavors of the 802.11 standard (.11b, .11g, and so on) are described.
