THE XENA/ARES SOUNDTRACK
Okay folks, this is how it goes. Pick a song that you think really sums up Xena and Ares relationship or one of their mutual adventures, and e-mail me with the title, artist, and a sentence or two as to why this song should be included in the soundtrack list. Then, I'll post it, and with your name (and e-mail address if you give permission), so you can get credit for your insight.
P.S. If I really like it, I might also make it into a Xena/Ares fan music video. So send in your submissions...
'Shameless' - by Garth Brooks. This song perfectly describes what Ares feels for Xena. It's sung in what in literature is called Stream Of Consciousness, and it's as if you had climbed inside Ares head, while he's thinking of his Warrior Princess.

'I Hate You' - by The Artist Formerly Known As Prince.
This song is about a man finding out that his lover is cheating. However these lyrics come to mind when you think of Ares and Xena.

'Jealous Guy' - by John Lennon.
A lot of people who disagree with Ares/Xena fans often point to Ares tormenting Xena, as proof that he doesn't really love her. I think this song really gets to the heart of why he does all the nasty things he does to her.

'Strut' - by Sheena Easton.
Ares does seem to objectify mortals, and I think this song speaks to Xena's resistance to get involved with him, to be used as his ultimate warrior or his sex toy. Also, with lyrics like "Nations go to war over women like you. It's just a form of appreciation.", this song can't help but fit in the soundtrack.
'Runaway' - by Del Shannon.
Everyone knows this oldie but goodie about a guy, walking around in the rain, trying to figure out why his girl left him. This, ofcourse, reminds me of Ares.

'You Really Got A Hold On Me' - by unknown.
I think this song brings out the addictive nature of all love/hate relationships. Ares loves Xena and Xena loves Ares but both will be damned if they admit it, or even worse, modify their behavior because of it.

'Cuts Both Ways' - by Gloria Estefan.
The metaphore of the knife combined with the deep knowledge that because of who they are, they can never be together, but will always yearn for each other, really fits this song into the soundtrack.

'My Heart Will Go On' - by Celine Dion.
The Only place these two can be together is in their hearts. Stuations being what they are; her good, him evil; it is IMPOSSIBLE for them to ever be together in any other way. Their hearts have survived throughout all the pain and strife between them so far. Their hearts will continue to go on.

'Simply Irresistable' - by Robert Palmer.
I have to agree with Aquila on this one. This song is one of the most perfect. I mean, nearly every line fits exactly about how Ares feels about Xena. How I missed this one till now is beyond me, but it's finally down in the soundtrack.
