The Gargoyles Legacy Comic Book takes place almost imediately
after Gargoyles: The Goliath Chronicles. Unlike other fanfiction
authors, I choose not to pretend the Goliath Chronicles didn't exist.
I do this for a few reasons. Namely, one of my main villains Reaver
is based on the character from TGC episode "Generations". But
that is certainly not the only reason. I think with a few exceptions,
many of TGC episodes were much better anything on the Avalon
World tour (exceptions including Sanctuary, MIA and Future Tense).
Thus in my opinion, every dumb episode in TGC has at least 2 dumb
episodes to match in the first 2 seasons. It is also my opinion that
TGC was going where the series should have been going all along:
Gargoyles fighting and coping with modern-day life and villains.
Under Weisman's supervision in the world tour, this was a rare occurence.
This doesn't mean however that I will not use Puck, Oberon w/Titania, Avalon
etc., but rather they simply won't be in *every* issue. For the most part,
Gargoyles Legacy will be a much more down to Earth, realistic experience.
Every great series has to have a Main Villain.
Someone who has a high power and can cause trouble for the heroes.
For Spawn it's Jason Wynn and Malbolgia, for Superman it's Lex
Luther, for Gargoyles, is used to be Xanatos. But who now that Xanatos
has befriended the gargoyles? The answer is Jonathan Papazian. JP
takes the role of the Evil wealthy businessman, I think you'll find that
he fits the bill quite nicely. Other familiar faces show as well including
Demona, Thailog and Dracon. There is a whole lot of new villains,
including a new Quarrymen leader, Negacon, a Bounty Hunter, Reaver,
and even a fallen angel, Richter. Amung these is a new gargoyles clan.
Working for JP they are led by Calibur Aurilius.
This will give Goliath and his clan something to really contend with.
However, the Manhattan clan has also grown.
Through the coarse of the first 10 comics, there will be 3 new additions
to Goliath's ranks! These include Natalie, the daughter of Othello and
Desdemona from Avalon, and two orphaned siblings Rodimus, and Locksley.
Along with these changes, GL will pick up old storylines
as well, including the mutates and clones etc.
The future past what is described in the "Comic Books"
section is pretty much completely unknown to me at this point.
I will probably begin to pick up on a mini world tour (one or
two comics) from "Bad Religion". I also plan on doing at least
one Gargoyles/Superhero crossover, Batman, X-men, Superman,
Spawn, TMNT, I haven't decided who (I'm open to suggestions).
Any ideas for the future I would certainly be happy to hear.
