SCUBA Diving is one of my main hobbies. I've been SCUBA diving ever since I qualified for my license in late '98. Since then I have qualified as an Advanced Diver, and have been on a number of holidays SCUBA diving. I've dived in a number of places in Indonesia and Australia. I'd like to dive in a number of other places, such as Papua New Guinea and Fiji, but first I must finish school. On this page on SCUBA Diving, I intend to show a couple of pictures from underwater photography of a friend of mine, and also a couple of dive resort homepages.
I first got my license with a company called PADI. PADI stands for Proffesional Association of Diving Instructors and is one of the more internationally recognised companies. To get your license you must first pass a physical by a trained doctor, and then have a number of lessons where you learn how to dive safely. There is both theory and practical work during the lessons. You must pass both a practical and theory test before you get your license. This
is a photo of a liveaboard boat, called the 'Seranade', that my family
and a friend's family stayed on for a week. We left from the Murex Dive
Resort in Manado, Indonesia, and toured the various islands around Manado.
We visited an active underwater volcano, tonnes of old lava flows, beautiful
coral reefs and walls and a wreck of an old boat. The night dives were
also fantastic. While we were travelling from island to island we saw a
pod a pilot whales and also some dolphins. This has been one of my favourite
