some of my poems

I Burn - This is a poem about smoking and about feeling really bad about a situation you can't necessarily do anything about - 5-3-03

My window - I don't really remember what i was thinking or feeling when i wrote this, i think i just felt like I was feeling the need to pour out my heart and feelings. Don't quote me though, I really don't remember.

empty - again, I have no idea what this was about when I wrote it. The odds are pretty good I was depressed.

The Day I Sat Under a Tree and Cried - The first couple weeks of college were probably the darkest times of my life. I had just broken up with my girlfriend and all I could do was sit under a big oak tree and cry.

Contradicting Myself - I wrote this poem while I was still with my ex-girlfriend. Then it represented the dual feelings i was having, one side as an optomist and a person totally in love, and the other as a pessimist and someone who thought that it could never last. It used to be really special to me, I would explain to my girlfriend that half the song is about things I would never want to do or say, and the other half is what I feel, but now, it is more of a feeling I get when I look back at my past. It was a very sad time in my life, and I really do miss it, but now I have that special someone who I want to "tell me everything". One of my dear friends, Ivan from Russia, put the poem into the form of a song, and it makes me really sad to listen to it. I miss you Ivan.

Note: these poems have been used without the permission of the writer. But, after all, i'm making no money and it's just my aknowledgement of the well written poems :)
