This is the character page, where you can read about all the main characters in Tyler and Fred.

Tyler is a dog owned by Jimmy (see description below). Jimmy's parents gave Tyler a small part of their basement which he transformed, with the help of Fred, into a fashionable restaurant for local dogs and other animals. The restaurant is next to, of course, Tyler's secret underground room, complete with a big-screen TV, a bar, and a refrigerator.

Fred is a mouse with big ideas. He has several businesses, including the restaurant which he co-operates with Tyler, and a tunnel drilling business which he has with Frita. He is secretly in love with Frita, whom he became infatuated with after reading about in "Industrial Mice" magazine. For Fred, there is always room to get in trouble. Tyler chastised him for running phone solicitations for his company, among other things.

Frita is a genius mouse inventor who was featured prominently in the mouse industry magazine, "Industrial Mice." When she is not working in her welding shop, which was called the best mouse welding shop on the East Coast by Industrial Mice, she works with Fred in his tunnel drilling business. Frita lives in the condominium complex set up by Tyler and Fred next to their restaurant.

Albert is the leader of a group of chickens who established a chicken lodge in order to live together in safety. The safety did not last long, however, for a fox broke into the lodge in July of 1999. The chickens were fortunate enough to be rescued by Fred, who took them to sanctuary in his basement area, where several chicken coops were set up and are now used. Albert has one dream in life: to fly. He is working with Frita on inventing a chicken flying machine which would enable him to fly.

Jimmy is the owner of Tyler. He is an enterprising High School student who is in love with Elizabeth, a classmate. He finds it hard to talk to her, despite the fact that she is a neighbor. Jimmy is known to take long, philosophical walks with Tyler, who he can talk to. Although he has the ability to talk to Tyler, he still does not know about Tyler's secret places.
