It will oficially end Sunday September 26th at 7pm EST.
Voting was delayed the morning of the 19th because of a miscommunication. (The person who agreed to do the voting form did not realize it needed to be done by midnight on the 18th.) I am truly sorry for the delay. I have tested the new voting form six-ways-from-sunday and it should work. if it does not, send mail with your three picks to xday_vote@hotmail.com and they will be entered.

Friday, Sept 17th 1999:
The voting dates and times will have to be changed from the originally planned voting dates. My reasons for changing the dates/times are as follows. The voting dates/times are listed here - please dont send me mail saying "why cant i vote?" without reading this first. Thank you!
Part of this is my own silly fault and part is just the way it is.
Poor planning on my part :
When I arranged for voting to start on the 16th, I didnt realize that my thesis testing would be delayed three weeks. Therefore I did not forsee that I would have to move 500 miles to school a week after my classes were supposed to start. You all know how hectic the first few days of school is - imagine starting a week late. and have pity on my poor soul.
Stupidity on my part :
My savior complex for animals kicked in, and while attempting to save the next-door neighbor's dog from the threat of my cat, i got bit on the hand by my own darn cat and wound up in the immediate care center on Sunday (yes - the day i was due to move). You'll be glad to know that neither of the animals was injured in the ensuing battle. My hand however, still hurts and makes typing a bit uncomfortable.
Geocities problems :
The Geoserver went bang Tuesday the 14th at about 7pm, right when I was catching up on all the submissions that have been entered since last Friday. The geoserver seems to be alright now, but i lost a planned evening's worth of work.
What does alla this mean?
It means that rather than staying up ALL night for the next few days to get this thing going for the original deadline, i am going to delay voting till Sunday.
Voting will start at MIDNIGHT on SATURDAY Sept. 18th
(12:01am SUNDAY the 19th)
Voting will END at 12:01am on SUNDAY Sept. 25th
This gives me ample time to make sure that every submission is online, the voting form works, and everything is all hunky dory for the competition.
Hopefully this will not screw up anyone's plans for the competition. If it does, i am truly sorry, but much as i love this competition, i will not be able to get it running in time to meet the original deadline. sometimes these things happen and all we can do is move on.
