This is a new page set up to celebrate the lives of the late actors of "Star Trek." I think I will tell about what I think of them and their contributions that made "Star Trek" possible.

Gene Roddenberry was the creator of "Star Trek." The pilot episode aired in 1964 titled "The Cage." Most of the elements and special effects were unusual but were quite new. It was his hope that a future could be created for Humanity-A future built on freedom, equality, and space exploration to work toward a common goal.

His legend has continued to entertain people from all over the world for more than thrity years. The show has spanded over four series, and nine movies. Gene died in 1991.

I love Gene Roddenberry. Being African-American, I want the future Gene dream of. I wish he was still alive so the people could tell him of what a great job he has done not only for the show, but for the Human race as well. I hope someday that man will be able to coexist without hatred, or poverty, and will be able to explore space with a common future.

DeForest Kelly acted in the role of Doctor Lenard McCoy AKA: Bones on "Star Trek: The Original Series" from 1966 through 1969.

DeForest Kelly died in early June of 1999 after serval illnesses. I think he will always be one of my favorite "Star Trek" Doctors of all time. With the exception of Doctor Bashir played by Alexander Siddig, I think most TV doctors lack humor, the ability to be spontaneous, and he has helped so many people throughout his lifetime. DeForest Kelly had all of those qualities. His last "Star Trek" appearance was in "Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country" in 1992. I will miss him, and I hope that his legacy will continue as well as "Star Trek's!"
