West Coast Adventure

Our passion is the outdoors. Last spring we embarked on an extended road trip in our '60 VW bus. We started in the Cascade Mountains of Washington and Oregon and finished up on a remote beach in Baja, Mexico. Here are some of our favorite memories:

Mt. St. Helens, Washington, USA

One of our most memorable experiences in Washington was our hike up Mt. St. Helens. The view from the top was breathtaking. The skiing back down was even better! You can see from the paw prints in the snow that our dog, Molly, made it to the top, also.

Mt. Hood, Oregon, USA

After a good warm up on St. Helens, we were ready to attempt the steep, icy slopes of Mt. Hood. The summit ridge is just beyond the treacherous looking ice formations near the top of the photo.

Sunset, Northern California, USA

We did quite a bit of sea kayaking as we journeyed through California on the third week of our vacation. Almost every evening, we found ourselves walking on the beach, watching truly amazing sunsets.

Campsite, Baja California, Mexico

Finally, we ended up in Mexico. There are plenty of perfect point breaks to be found in Baja. There's nothing like spending a week surfing perfect waves with just a few close friends. This photo illustrates the solitude of the Baja surfing experience - a stark contrast to the overcrowded beaches only 7 hours away, in Southern California

Now that I'm back at work, I keep thinking about how to top that next year. Maybe South America!
