COUNTY County Profile: 1999 population 22,015. Thirty-six percent of the population is below 150 percent of the federal poverty level. The major city is Chipley. Health Care Access: According to Medical Quality Assurance, in 1999, Washington County had 13 medical doctors, five dentists, and 265 nurses actively licensed. Status of Volunteer Efforts: Washington County had no documented volunteerism this past fiscal year; however, a few Washington County residents received donated medical specialty care through the Bay County Bay Cares program.
