All About MetalJoe...

Horrific Photo of Me

So who am I? Well... my real name's John Chandler. I'm a recent graduate of Oxford Brookes University with an Upper Second BSc in the totally weird combination of Computing and History of Art - the first person to have studied such a combination at Brookes I believe... makes me highly sought after! (Yeah Right! *grin*). After several unsuccessful months of job hunting, I got a job at the Internet Research and Development Centre, located in the British town of Buckingham, doing Web development work. I stayed for about a year and a half, but when my job began to shift towards more managerial work I accepted a software development offer from New Information Paradigms. You can take a look at my CV, if you have to, but if you want to employ me... too late!

I was born 28th April 1976, raised on computers from an early age (I own 5 computers in various states of use) and I'm a die-hard Amiga Fanatic, I love painting and computer graphics, reading/watching science fiction, playing RPGs and Wargames, listening to heavy music etc. erm, well... just look at all my links for an idea about what I like or don't like (it's much nicer than reading all this waffle! *grin*).

Education? If you must know, I took 10 GCSEs at A-C grade (Art, Biology, Chemistry, English Language, English Literature, French, Geography, History, Maths and Physics) plus A-Levels in Art (A), Chemistry (B) and Physics (C)... er, and a D in AS General Studies (but we don't talk about that). People outside the UK are probably hopelessly lost by now! :-) Oh, and I was accepted by Mensa... though decided that apart from being too expensive, did I really want to belong to an organisation which had Sir Clive Sinclair as a member? *grin*

Erm, what else? Well, I don't want to bore you with waffle... I've seen tons of home pages where the creator has their record collection online (not that I'm embarrassed about owning a 1978 Smurfs record, you understand), or 101 GIFs of their pets (mainly because none of my pets have survived a whole month alive) or several pictures of their Significant Other (*bah* *grumble* don't even mention the subject... *grin*).

Ah well, I'll leave you to it, if there's a burning question about me then I'll answer it below. Take care, don't waste any more time reading this... go on clear off back to the contents page!

Favourite Foods:
Chicken Curry, Smoked Salmon, Pizza, most vegetarian food (I'm veggy in spirit).
Least Favourite Foods:
Baked Beans, Roast Dinners, Ham and Pineapple Pizza (*yurrrgh*)
Favourite Drinks:
Coca-Cola, Dr Pepper, Thatcher's Cider (Orange, cloudy and damn good). Unfortunately, I'm teetotal nowadays...
My Old Car:
Red, clapped out C-Reg Metro. Held together by rust, paint and runic magic.
My New Car:
A smart, blue H-Reg Rover Metro 1.1S. It's got 5 gears, an aerial, no rust and can actually build up enough speed to overtake things - unlike the previous Metro...
20 days after I bought it, the car was rammed from behind by a moronic financial director in a hurry. Eagle Star, my insurance company, screwed me and the person at fault lied so I lost my compensation. But hey! I'm not bitter... much.
Fetishes:
Vampires, Redheads, DMs, accents, sensible shoes, plastic bubble wrap... erm... next question!
When I grew up I wanted to be:
A Fighter Pilot...
Embarrassing Moments:
Too many to mention... though throwing up in the presence of the same, very attractive, woman on four separate occasions must rank as a highlight... (previous visitors may note it was three times.. but er... I did it again in front of her *oops*). Hey, I get nervous and have panic attacks ok? *grin*
