Welcome to MetalJoe's Amiga Pages, my contribution to the amazing worldwide Amiga community, featuring links, information, discussion and news about the Amiga and related hardware/software. Feel free to mail me with your comments, rumours, information and wishes... Enjoy!

I'm particularly interested in the next generation of Amiga hardware and OS, so I've gathered related news, information and links, mixed with a little personal opinion, on the Next Generation page. If you've been away from the Amiga for too long, or want to make sense of the Amiga's new directions, this is the ideal starting point. Though it must be pointed out that the recent surge of changes has left me in a state of flux - so far the AmigaOS and PowerPC pages have been updated, with other pages scheduled for an overhaul soon.

For more varied opinions and comments on the Amiga in general, why not take a look at my Comments page? The last update is a reprint of my Suite101.com article on AROS, the Amiga Replacement Operating System. This is a portable, multi-platform AmigaOS clone that currently runs on 680X0 and x86 hardware.. I'd also recommend taking a look at the reprint of the greenboy interview I undertook with Andrej Bunta. You can also browse past articles on subjects such as web browsers, hardware costs, OS 3.5, Amiga licensing, PowerPC and Coldfire Amigas, Windoze frustration... and breaking down the barriers between Amigans and fellow non-Wintel users, amongst many others.

If you haven't already joined up, why not put your computer to an unusual project while supporting the Amiga at the same time? Join the RC5 code-cracking competition and support the Amiga RC5 effort. We're in the top 6, but we need more help! Take a look at the Amiga RC5 Effort Site for details. You don't even need an Amiga - I use an Amiga A4000/030, 2 Linux PCs and an SGI Indy for my blocks!

The Next Generation Amiga Pages give a survey of the current and future options for AmigaOS and Amiga hardware, along with links to related resources on the World Wide Web. The pages currently cover PowerPC, Alpha and Coldfire Amiga technology - including AmigaOS, Amiga/Elate, Phoenix/Neutrino, AROS, IBM's PowerPC Open Platform, Amirage K2, InsideOut/SiamesePCI, and the new Coldfire and G3/G4 boards. Further developments will all be covered as and when specific details are released, so keep checking back for more information and feel free to mail me anything of interest as I need the assistance of fellow Amigans around the world to keep everything up-to-date.

Thanks to Andreas Frank for the "Created With Amiga" banner. Also, cheers to the excellent Czech Amiga News crew, Gary Storm and the SEAL crew (for the Interview!), Amiga International, Suite101.com, AltOS and the many people who have mailed links and support since the site first started... and those who run the many great Amiga websites out there!
