"Technicalities"

This is a short adventure designed for two players, but more maybe added.  The characters are soldiers in the Rebel Alliance Special Forces and the time is after Yavin in the ESB era.  The adventure begins as the characters are briefed at an SpecForce outpost by Major Tom, a stiff by the book officer in the Special Forces.

The Mission

"Ok Lt. this is the mission you with the help of your team must accomplish.  On the planet Jav there is a Imperial Laboratory and Research complex in the forest.  We are very interested in why the complex was placed on Jav and what they are researching.  As you know Jav is a mining colony that was settled 100 years ago.  The planet is covered with forests of the Luk tree.  But, there are few inhabitants and the Imperial presence is few (only 1 company of troops and a small naval defence force).  The installation is not well defended by Imperial standards but you can't expect to take it by force, the Imperials have hard wired an emergency computer self-destruct to stop any unathorised entry.  All the data and equipment will be destroyed with a push of a button.  Your mission is to arrive in William city in a transport that will drop you off.  You are to blend in with the miners and Imperials and try to find away to infiltrate the Imperial Complex without being discovered.  Once in you must find out what they are researching and why on Jav?.  Then take what you can and destroy everything else, including data.  I the research is useful our people might want to see it.  After destroying everything run away and await transport.  As for personal here is a team listing we are short on medics so either you or the Sargent are going to have to take up a medpack in emergency.

Capsule: The Planet Jax is an marginally inhabited planet in the edge of the Outer Rim.  The planet was colonised 100 years ago.  Jax is covered with the rare Luk tree which completely regrows in 5 years.  The mining industry is slow but profitable.  The spaceport is located in William city which houses the main smelting and ore processing facilities. William city also has an airport where all the ore from all over the planet arrives to be processed and then shipped.  About 10 km outside of William City is an Imperial Installation.  William city in home to many criminals and con artists as well as the violent miners.  The City has a population of 20,000 but many more travel in and through the city every day.  The main Bar is Rogers which is serves very dangerous clintell.

Capsule: Major Gregor is a young unaceptional Imperial Officer.  A native of Corscant Gregor studied at many universities and early on showed proficiency in Science and the Sword.  He went to the local Imperial Army academy and was commissioned.  He served in his positions adiquitly but not aceptionally.  Because of his academic record in science Gregor was transferred recently at age 28 to head the planetary occupation of Jax and protect the laboratory.  Gregor is exstream egoistic about his ability with the sword and always is looking for worthy beings to duel with him.

Capsule:  Doctor Masters is the Imperial Doctor in charge of the Experiment* on Jax.  From Corscant Masters studied at many universities and with many other doctors.  Masters and his team are very close to perfecting their experiment.  What ever it is it the Rebels must not get it and Masters and Major Gregor are prepared to defend it.

Base Personal

The Laboratory and Imperial Base is a well defended facitily which houses 200 troops.  Most of the Troops are infantry with a few repulsorlift vehicles, Gregor adores his command speeder and two single person fighting vehicles and 4 TIEs which are his heavy fighting power. At least a platoon (30 men)  is always patrolling William City in armored Land speeders.  15 Speeder bikes are on patrol around the base which has multiple look out towards with E-Webs inside.  Around the Clock at least one platoon is on foot patrol around the Base Compound in radom paths.  The Base is well defended with a reinforced gate and double power fences.  A map will be included later.  The Characters must find some cover to investigate the base they shouldn't be able to take it by force.


Gamemaster Notes:

*The Nature of the Experiment is up to the gamemaster discression.  Once I run this adventure I will write what I did.  I publish maps for this soon, so your players have a good view.  

Feel free to run this adventure as you see fit.  Allow the characters to come up with a good cover which allows them contact with doctors and Imperial personal without catching the attention of Gregor's men.
