A FANBOY'S GUIDE TO DRAGONCON

Welcome to my very own fanboy's guide to DragonCon. Here you'll find pictures from last year's extravaganza.

Last year was my first and I didn't really know what to expect. I was so excited! My fiance and I got there early on the first day. It's good to get there early. We waited in a very short line and paid and got our cool membership badges created by Clive Barker. Then we just milled around, for there was nothing to do! On the first day, many people are still getting there and setting up. The dealer's room didn't open until one, so we just walked around the Inforum Convention Center. Fortunately, the Atlanta Radio Theatre Company was setting up their table. I dragged my fiance, who is not an SF fan, bless her heart, over there as soon as I saw the table. I became familiar with them after a member of their group, Thomas Fuller, came to an SF class that Brad Strickland was teaching at Gainesville College. I bought cassettes of "The Island of Dr. Moreau," "The Rats in the Walls" with Harlan Ellison, and "The Time Machine." This is great stuff. If you haven't listened to it, or even heard of it, you owe it to yourself to seek these things out.

Here is some of what we saw there (we didn't have a very reliable camera). On with the pics!

Here I am at the lovely Gwar booth. Note the obligatory fanny pack and cool freebies bag supplied by Wizards of the Coast!

Mr. Jones, Mr. Smith, Mr. Palmer. Mr. Palmer?!

In the dealer's room, my fiance snapped a great picture of David "Darth Vader" Prowse signing autographs.

I will hopefully be adding more soon, as well as pictures from this year's event, so stay tuned!
