STARBASE:OR.CA which was originally called "All Southern Oregon and Northern California Star Trek Fan Club" was initially formed in 1994 by Paul Walker Jr., current club president, and Ron Fitch Jr, current club vice president and webmaster. This Star Trek fan club was formed for the benefit of the Southern Oregon and Northern California fans. Since our initial inception in 1994 we have grown to include three additional regional chapters (in Yreka, CA, Crescent City, CA and Klamath Falls, OR).
Our membership is not only available to the local region but also for membership around the world. We are truly an international Star Trek fan club. We have also expanded our coverage from just Star Trek to include a wide variety of other Sci-Fi interests to help better serve our members, via our sister club: Southern Oregon Sci-Fi Central, which is run and organized by our club's vice president, Ron Fitch Jr.
Our club is responsible for providing to all of our members "the most recent and up to date information possible on ALL aspects of Star Trek". We do this by having general meetings quarterly, our club's newsletter, as well as public functions. Upcoming events scheduled for 1998-1999 include: a Star Trek event in Sacramento, CA, a future Star Trek convention to be held here in the Rogue Valley of Southern Oregon and a Spring 1999 trip to Las Vegas, NV for the "Star Trek: Experience" attraction.
