I forgot to mention this at the time, and I know that it has become a source of disinterest of late, but better late than never, as my mother always said.
I understand now that everyone is aware that the shadow alliance never existed. It's a fair cop guvnor.
You see, the game can get so dull! What it needed was an injection of back stabbing double crossing and general unease.
And here, from the Shadows, came the SA.
I make no apologies for the 'fake' alliance - I think that everyone would agree that Olympia would have been a lot less interesting around that time if the SA hadn't raised their heads.
But all good things come to an end. The stage was set for the good and noble Arthur to be publicly ridiculed. What was to be done? Of course, it was simple. Replace him. Lord Angelo came forward, and with him he brought hope for the alliance.
Angelo's hot temper and outlandish threats at least heightened the interest in the alliance, which in all honesty was it's only purpose. To cause interest. But of course, in the end, one must make good on his threats.
But I had a back upm plan! You see, Angelo was named after the same character in Shakespeares Measure for Measure. In the play, Angelo takes over when the Duke leaves, and makes some mistakes. When the Duke returned, all was well and good.
So Arthur was set to make a return, and dispell Angelo from the throne. Thus, all threats would be negated, and everything would go back to normal. Of course, the two leaders were one in the same, but that hardly mattered.
So what happened? Why didn't Arthur come back? Well, to be quite honest, I got rather bored. You would, wouldn't you. I had gone to far to stop, and I had no interest in carrying on, so I passed the information on to another.
the other in question had been responsible for posts from The Thinker. This was also senseless propaganda, but by this point who cared?
The Thinker chose to play around with the SA, orchestrating arguments on the G2 mailing list with himself.
Why? Who knows?
And then, like every myth, it was forgotten. But I see as I glance at all the web sites and archives that the momory lives on. Was it such a bad thing? You be the judge of that.
Me, I think I'll retire.
By the By, the American/English spelling of words came from an englishman who had spent too much time surfing the web. So much so that he often made typos, accedently putting in the American version.
