Men, don't let the pink background scare you off. This isn't really a girly site; I figure so many people hate Marita that I might not get many visitors, so I can make this one as self-serving as I like, with a girlish background and large images that take forever to load.

I think Marita Covarrubias has been given a raw deal. She is universally hated, but why? Mr.X was an angry, violent informant, and no one seems to hate him, but when a woman comes along who attempts to be helpful, she is despised! I think this has alot to do with some of the shippers who fear and hate Marita because she is perceived to be a threat to Mulder/Scully romance. They say she wants to seduce Mulder, their "Proof" being that she appeared in a bathrobe in front of him. Might I remind you that, first of all, Mulder was the one who came to her, and she didn't exactly have time to get dressed. They also say the way she acts sultry is evidence of her supposed lust for Mulder. Is it not possible that she could just be an all-over sultry type, who would act that way around anyone? I am sure that the fear shippers have about her "Stealing" Mulder is a large part of the reason she is hated. Remember Bambi? She didn't do anything either, and she too is loathed! I say, at least Marita has attempted to help Mulder.
