James Dinh began dancing during his sophomore year at West High School in Salt Lake City Utah. At first it was just a curiosity but his teacher, Becky Dyer, prompted him to become involved in "Color Us Proud" the multicultural pilot project for an after-school arts program called "Art Works at West". The next year he joined West High's dance company. With the encouragement of his new teacher, Hillary Carrier, he continued his pursuit of dance at the University of Utah. There he performed in pieces such as Alysa Haas' "Rotacion en Rosa", Shannon Ricks' "Ooangolema", and choreographed his own works including "Midsummer Night's Dream for the Custodian". His interests have led him into the field of creative education and is in pursuit of his Utah Teaching Certification the the U of U's Modern Dance Secondary Teaching program.
