Beginning to Create your Website | ||
In order to use Dreamweaver to its fullest potential, it’s necessary to understand the basic steps in creating and maintaining Web sites. Step 1: Set
up the site structure |
||
Step 1 Setting up the site structure refers to creating the main folder that contains the sub-folders holding the files needed to generate the website. A Website has one main folder in which the HTML code is usually stored; other necessary sub-folders are created either at the beginning of the web creation process or as the web designer works and finds it necessary to create new folders. The Root Folder will automatically be saved in the default drive where Dreamweaver is located. If you wish to change the root directory path, click on the icon folder to the immediate right of the local root folder dialog box and a new window will appear. Open the drop down menu and choose a directory to relocate the root folder. All future files from this project will automatically save to the root folder in its new directory. Once you have defined your site’s folder structure
it is time to define the site itself through the Dreamweaver software. |
