I haven't had a ghost experience but I do strongly belive in them. My friend told me about her gohstly experience. She lives with her boyfriend and they had a dog that would bark! at the same time every night for no apparent reason. Also the CD Player wou d play even know it wasn't switched on. And the most spookyest experience was that a wind pulled something that was stuck on the tele off. They decided to get a spiritulist in and she told them that loads of spirits were passing through the house all the ime but they were harmless.

I bought a 100 year old house 2 weeks ago and while trying to install my stereo I found that I was missing 2 wires for the CD. I looked everywhere. I went to the basement to find them in a box where they shouldn't have been, twisted around other wires. I ent back upstairs to put the stereo togather and felt as if someone was watching me. Then I noticed where I had a spittune in the window holding it open, it was smashed.

I have been to Rosewell many times and have endless information about it. Floor plans, photos, out of print books...the works. Anyone that is interested please feel free to contact me. There is much more to the Rosewell story than a haunted house. Gove nor John Page lived there, his family once owned all of what is now Williamsburg. In fact, Thomas Jefferson is said to have written a rough draft of the Declaration of Independence at Rosewell before going to Philly. The house is still incredible and th feeling there is calm yet electric at the same time. You find yourself almost walking with a "colonial gate" as daffodils still bloom where they were planted many years ago ...and fireplaces sit empty suspended 3 floors up.

3/1/00 Confessions of a Ghost Hunter: Hi, everyone, KarenESP here. I had an experience I'd like to share with you all. I took my new friend Steve Boston down to Point Lookout State Park; in Saint Mary's County Maryland with me last Sunday. It isn't everyday that I find another soul like my elf, interested in ghosts and history, so I was thrilled to have a traveling companion. It was rainy and foggy all around, the whole way down, for 2.5 hours. I began to have that old familiar feeling like "Point Lookout was expecting me," and sure enoug , the sun broke through just as we arrived at the park, as if the place lit up just for us on our arrival. Before I left on the trip, I bought about $35.00 worth of silk flowers and a nice plastic pot to arrange them in. I took these with me. The realization had finally occurred to me that I had been hunting those poor soldiers, now ghosts and spirits, with y tape recorder, my camera and my camcorder, but had never bothered to memorialize their plight… I had never bothered to bring them so much as one flower. Oh certainly, I had been to their memorial set high upon their mass grave yard where their bones are now piled anonymously, all mixed up, but only to see if it was a hot place to catch some of my beloved paranormal proof. I had never even said a prayer o peace to remember or memorialize their tragedy in any other form. No wonder I have so many tape recordings (EVP recordings) of close-range antique gunshots, no wonder they were always 'shooting at me.' As many of you know, and for those of you who do not, Point Lookout State Park sits on the grounds of what was previously a Confederate Civil War Concentration camp. Nearly 3,500 young men died there of starvation, exposure and disease. I noticed a new istorical sign had been planted which revealed that most of the Confederate Soldiers imprisoned at Point Lookout had been rounded up after the Battle of Ghettysburg. I hadn't known about this before, and it struck me as interesting. I was determined this trip to simply explain to my friend Steve the history of the Park. I was not going to simply dwell on the paranormal side of things, although I did mention it was the third most haunted place in the world. Here, history and paranor al activity are so much intertwined, like marbled beef. I went along with Steve, explaining the history as best I could, unarmed, with no paranormal documentation devises whatsoever. People think I am an exceptionally brave, a woman who goes out to cemeteries and mostly forgotten battlegrounds to 'hunt ghosts.' I actually believed that too. However on this trip, I found out that without my camera and my tape recorder, I was not so v ry brave. In fact, I was down right 'scared.' I was unarmed this time, not the hunter, but the hunted. And boy, did "they" let me know it. It was time for Karen to eat a little crow, I guess, but I've had worse from the 'living', so it wasn't too bad. I heard the spirits this time, with my very ea s. Poor Steve was sensing them too, and my best efforts to be the brave, knowledgeable paranormal investigator weren't making him OR me feel much better. At one point, Steve asked me to go into a little building which was used as a stage set-up for the Park's annual ghost walk every year. Surprise, surprise, the big brave ghost hunter was afraid. The spirits took it pretty easy on me, though, taking into account their considerable abilities… Only a few whispers in that building which left me feeling like I was going to pee my pants and Steve asking me if I was going to cry. I think they took it easy on me because I was, after all, a bizarre type of 'fan' of theirs… what's that saying, better negative attention than none at all? Next, after the building episode, I had to take Steve to Hoffman's Loop, the area in what is now campgrounds where the Confederate's bodies had been originally buried. I related the gruesome tale to Steve about how the bodies had been first buried too cl se to the shoreline and how they subsequently had "floated up" to the surface of the shoreline. To remedy this situation, the bodies had been moved later to the mass grave at the park entrance where they remain today. After telling Steve this tale of ho ror and taking him to the appropriate shoreline area of Hoffman's Loop to point out the 'exact spot,' we were finally walking on our way back out of that particular camping loop, enjoying the sunny day. A feeling of normality had returned and I was glad or it. Steve and I were talking about this and that and I noticed an elderly couple coming up from behind us on their bicycles. I thought Steve heard the whir of their bikes too, apparently, he did not. I looked behind Steve just as the woman was about to pass him on his left and said, "Hello." Poor Steve must have thought I was greeting one of my beloved 'ghosts,' because he looked behind him, and although seeing the woman on the bike, bolted straight up in the air with fright. We all had a big laugh over th s and as her biking companion, the woman's husband, who had been bringing up the rear, finally passed us, he asked, "And what have YOU been thinking about doing?" I filled Steve in on a few more things about the Park from the Civil War days. I explained that there was a big wall around the prison area, that armed guards walked on. The Union tried to put as many black soldiers in guard positions as possible; to hu iliate the Confederate soldiers as much as they possibly could. I explained the infamous "ten foot rule,:" If a prisoner came within ten feet of the prison wall, he was shot on sight. If you want to know more about this tragic, fascinating place, look i up yourself on the web, or call Point Lookout State Park's Office in Scotland, Maryland. For an internet search, try: Point Lookout State Park or Hammond Hospital. After giving Steve a complete tour of the Park, or as much of it as I could based on what was "open" that February day, we made our way to the mass grave. The big memorial monument plunked on top of a fenced in patch of land, looked so familiar, but so t reatening again, without the aid of my ghost-busting props. I took the flowers out of the trunk of my car that I had brought with me. A wicked thought went through my head, that my $35.00 bouquet was the equivalent of spending one penny on each of the soldiers that had died there. Then following that, the questi n arose in my mind, "And who is one the front of the penny? Why Abe Lincoln of course, President during the Civil War. I tried to dismiss this as another of my nonsense connections and mere coincidences, but still, it sounded pretty damned good to me; A Penny For Your Thoughts, so to speak, is that what I was truly after on this trip? I had just waltzed through the iron gates of the burial ground, with Steve following along behind me, when I heard a woman spirit whisper, "Now….!" Immediately at this prompt, as I surely did NOT want to hear her say it again, I because softly singing th song, "Amazing Grace." I went to the top of the monument (there are steps) and began arranging my flowers, all the while singing my little hymn. I felt the presence of confused and angry spirits. But, as a few minutes of time and singing went by, I fe t this presence drift into a peaceful mood. Much better for all concerned I thought, and again - imagine, me without my tape recorder! I noticed that my floral arrangement felt a little light and wondered if I could find a brick or rock to put in the bottom of it to keep the wind from toppling it over. Steve and I looked around unsuccessfully for a rock, but I did find a nice variety of arge sticks. I snapped these into small pieces, remembering how many campfires Id made here, in this Park, with sticks just like these. Of course, I was here only as a "hunter" during those days, but I wondered about the significance of using sticks, ra her than rocks, to cement my bouquet into place. I knew, as usual, I would sleep on this and the answer would come to me. After I got my bouquet absolutely perfect, the nervousness subsiding from my soul, I knocked off my singing and a group of 'tourists' appeared to admire the monument. An odd after-thought came to me. I had, on impulse, bought both Steve and I candy necklaces on the way down. Steve had eaten his, but the remainder of mine was still encircled around my wrist. I took it off and laid it into the bouquet of flowers, maki g sure, for some unknown purpose, that the necklace would stand out in the floral arrangement. I knew this was 'eccentric' of me, but I have long since accepted that I am eccentric. I also was confident that the significance of this "gesture" would late be explained. Steve posed for some pictures on the monument and as did I, with our floral bouquet. Now these were meant to be exclusively 'tourist' type photos, no intent on catching any spirit activity motivated me today. (Of course these photos still haven't been d veloped, I think devilishly to myself.) The mother of the children who were also looking at the memorial told her daughters to get out of the way of the photos, but I told her it was no problem if they stayed in. I was actually relieved to have more company, in bodies, as I was tired of being he big scared chicken that I had been all that day. Steve told me he had looked into the glass windows of the gardening shed in the back of the cemetery and had seen another reflection behind himself. I told him I'm sure he had, as I have photos from a previous trip in which faces had appeared in the glas reflection of that very shed. Steve said he had felt the presence of many as soon as he entered the graveyard. Again, I told him I understood this. I asked Steve if he felt them now and he told me no. The only thing I felt at this point in time was t e warm sun, a wonderful feeling of safety and peace. The only sounds I heard came from the children as they playfully putzed around the monument. My life was 'normal' again, Amen. As we left the memorial, I was concerned that someone would take my lovely bouquet, as it was so attractive. We are, after all, territorial creatures, aren't we? Then I relieved to thing, well if someone did take it, they'd have 3,500 souls annoying the : NOT that I would wish that on ANYONE. As we left, one of the little girls was looking down at my bouquet, no doubt puzzling over the half-eaten candy necklace showcased in the arrangement. I wondered to myself, if her parents later would puzzle over t at as well. I myself, as usual, was still puzzling over why I had put the darned thing in there. It takes a few days for the big psychic messages to "come in" for me, but here is what I received. The message was completed yesterday, 2/29/00. The young men who live on at Point Lookout, who "died" there, in that dreadful concentration camp, and who r main there still, without bodies, have this message for the world: We were so very young, most of us barely even 20. We truly were boys during the time of our greatest trial. We call to America from the "STICKS," the remote tip of Saint Mary's County. We suffered terribly here, in our lonely prison camp, and at the same time, we feel cheated that we did not die in "glory" like our comrades who were killed in the Battle of Ghettysburg. Our comrades, who died in the battle of Ghettysburg, died a "glorio s soldier's death." We died a terrible, slow death, but "Glory" has not bestowed on us. We were herded into this concentration camp as "survivors," but the relief of 'surviving' the bloody battle did not last long. We found ourselves dying a most atrocious and slow death; We froze, we starved, we died of disease, 100 yards from a hospital - that was not for us. We remain forgotten: We were awarded no medals of honor for facing our tragic and certain deaths in this God-forsaken camp. We have no glorious monuments here, like they have in Ghettysburg. There are no tour buses to cart around the droves of tourists who never flock to see us. Many of us, crazed with our fate, even walked up to the 10-foot zone, to be shot, to end our mise y and to find some semblance of glorious passage; A passage befitting of a 'soldier.' But still, no monument is erected attesting to our trials, but simply one that bears our names. There are no movies made of our plight like the ones made of the "glorious battle.' We, nearly 3500 men strong, silently wait for our tragic story to be told and heard. Even the piece filmed for "Sightings," some eight years ago, was mysteriously cancel ed. We are lost like those who died in the Holocaust, but we are not memorialized as such, and therefore, true spiritual freedom cannot be ours. During our trials, we lost not only our innocence, but our sanity and our humanity. We do not feel acknowledged; we truly are the forgotten ones. Please understand we meant you no harm Karen, we just wanted a bit of your attention. Tell my mother I love her. My heart still breaks, buy yet, at least you have come to see me again, in your way. I fought in Ghettysburg, and I survived, I was relieved at first, with the carnage of my friends and brothers, lying in pieces all about me. Very soon after my 'rescue,' I felt like a phony and a traitor, because I had not fallen with my comrades, in "gl ry." But my rescue proved to be only an illusion; I never got to go home again, in my body, to tell my mother that I was 'alright.' Re: Message received - I, as a spiritual medium, must clear some confusion that the 'living' might not understand: Why do they stay, these spiritual ghosts in Point Lookout, why did they not go immediately to Heaven? When we are burdened with self-incrimination, we cannot see the light. We see only darkness fueled by regret and a distorted sense of evil we believe w have earned within ourselves. We stay; we remain stuck, trying to resolve our emotional pain. These soldiers joined a cause that they believed they should fulfill, as men defending their Country, their families, their livelihood and the safety of their families. But these soldiers found they broke the rules of humanity, of nature and of inner-pea e. These soldiers became war-torn, lost children. As Children of God, they deserve their rescue, their relief. And so I fight on for them, in a battle of my own. A battle to re-establish them as loving beings, yes - human in every way, fighting within circumstances they could not independently control. I begin to show them they are children, reduced by "loss" to an emotional level far below their chronological age at their time of passage. But yet, some still remain, albeit children of God. And with or without bodies, every human being remains importa t to me, real to me, because of my gift, or perhaps it may be my burden. For there is no financial reward in what I do, but still, I am compelled to spread peace amongst these lost souls, peace by enlightening our lost Nation of another reality, our true reality. This weekend, I go to Ghettysburg. I will attempt to resolve the conflicts with the souls remaining on the battlefield, souls that died in 'glory,' with their comrades who died miserably at Point Lookout, imprisoned. You know there are alot of things out here in the world today you just can not exsplain.Like that feeling you get that someone is in your room ,and there is no one there. Or you feel like someone just staring at you but you see no one. Or when you just kn w something bad is going to happen and it dose. I have delt with this sence I was 5 years old. i belive that ghosts are not some guys under a sheet, but souls that are confused and have forgotton about going to the light when you die. so it goes and stays around a plce that it might have died in or a house that it used to live in or somthing simalir. if there is a ghost in your house then do one of these. if ya want it to leave for a while but not leave for ever be as noisy as possible. because ghost dont like noise they will get scared and leave. but not for good. if a ghost is scaring the heck out of you and you want it to leave right away thebn do this. it may sound stupid because it is a soul but talk to it firmly... sord of like you would to a child when its doing somthing wrong. dont yell though, because it might scare it away but it will come back . talk nice but firm. tell it that its time to move on. remind it of what dying is and about the light you see when you die and tell it how it is supposed to go to the light. and tell it that it will be much happier where it goes. and its a soul so it should see the light that it needs to go to ya just need to describe why its there and where it will take it.ok now ya should know thow to get rid of a ghost. im going to now tell you how tell if it is a ghost or a poltergeist. a ghost is a grown up. well i say grown up but its what used to be to be a grown up before it died. and they usually haunt the area where they died. but a poltergiest is what they call a ghost that died as a kid. and ya remember way back when you where a little kid, and how ya always wanted to be around teenagers. well poltergeist are just like that. exept there dead. there little kids. thats why poltergeist have been found to haunt a house that has a teenager in it . but poltergeists mainly like to haunt houses with girl teenagers. no one really knows why they mostly haunt tenage girls.so basicly aghost is a dead grown ups soul. a poltergeist is a dead childs soul and if ya think ya have a poltergeist, and ya want to get of it you would do the same thing ya would if it was a ghost, (wich i explained what do about ghosts up towards the top of this) so if ya cant remember what i said on how to get rid of ghost and cant find this message

I have had several experiences in my family as well as myself. Mostly revolving around the spirts of a wolf dog, I don't exactly what this means?? I have talked to an Indian Man, he said the spirt of the wolf is trying to protect me from something, I had dream or what I thought was a dream??? I was lost in the woods, or so I thought but when I looked up the wolf was at the foot of my bed watching me, In the distance I could see the eagle flying overhead, and the clearing of the woods was there for me, bu yet I was still in my room?? The wolf was running around the bed, I woke up my fiance, I was scared to death, he said it was a bad dream but I don't think so.. It happened when a friend stayed the night with me, she woke me up saying she saw something in the living room that went into my room, she was so scared she said she couldn't move. I find this stuff very interesting. But scary! I know that this stuff can really happen. We use to live in a haunted house in Wisconsin when I was a kid. Since then I believe another house that we were renting was haunted. We later heard from our next door neighbor that years earlier a little boy had died in the front bedroom because he accidentally shot himself with a gun. Whether it is true or not I do not know. But I do know that I was not always alone in the house. We have recently purchased our first home. There have been a few things that have happened here that make me wonder about this house. Maybe I'm just being a little paranoid?? I have 2 pets (a dog and a cat), neither have shown any unusual activity in the house. Where as in the last house the dog refused to go down to the basement. Even if you carried him down there,to the basement, he would turn ight around and run right back up the stairs to the main level. When you believe in this sort of thing, can you cause more paranormal activity compared to if you didn't believe in the paranormal? Thanks for Listening, A.H.

Throughout my life I have had several different encounters of a spiritual kind. My earliest memory is about ten years ago, I was lying in bed and woke up to the bed slightly shaking. Then I realised that my head was pinned, being pushed down against the illow and I could not move. There was some kind of whispering gibberish in my ear and suddenly whatever it was vanished and I was able to move again. At that stage, I jumped out of bed and ran down the hallway, completely frightened! Other times I have been acutely aware of presences, although I have not been able to see anything. I have also had my name called on one ocassion. I was standing at the kitchen sink doing the dishes when I heard somebody call my name from the front door, which is a ranchslider. However, when I got there there was nobody in sight. Another time I was again, lying in bed, when I heard a rustling in the corner of my bedroom. I sat up to get a look as I thought it could have been a mouse. However, in the corner of my room there was a dark shadowy figure, hunched over, and moving toward the centre of the room. At that stage I was so frightened I ran from the room downstairs and did not go back up into my bedroom for some time. However when I had talked myself into it, I went back in and whoever it was had left. I talk to some of my friends at times, I believe ghost experiences is a very common thing although a lot of people are too scared to talk about it for fear of being ridiculed. A friend of mine recently told me about her experience of waking up two simult neous nights to somebody standing at the end of her bed... a shadowy figure. Anyhow, good luck on your ghost huntings and your good work. I'd love to hear from you if you have the opportunity to write back.

Great web site ! I found you thru a web crawler link exchange ( inter. Ghost ) I nkow of MANY Haunts in Hampton Roads from being a Security Guard in this area in the 1980's and also worked with area police and others whom also relayed there paranormal exp rances. i really do like your web site i found it very interesting and very helpful.
