"Sometimes I like to go into my own little world. But it's okay, they know me there!" - Joel Hodgson

Getting to know the CaveDweller

For all those that have been wondering for so long, the time has fianally come.
Yes, I now have pictures of myself on my web page! Personally, I think Og
up there looks better but for those who wanna know, you can now click  here
to see me. If veiwing these pictures causes any long term mental problems,
don't say I didn't warn you so don't send your lawyers after me!

I was born on November 18th, 1973. A birthday I share with Mickey Mouse,
Kirk Hammett (the guitarist from Metallica), a cyber-friend of mine,
Starluck, Kevin Nealon (of Saturday Night Live and 10-10-321 commercials
fame), and Linda Evans (whose best known the MST3K junkies as the poor
woman that had to roll around in bed with Joe Don "Mitchell" Baker) .
I was born, raised and have lived my entire life in Evansville, Indiana.
Evansville is the third largest city in the state of Indiana, but that  doesn't
really mean there's a lot to do here. Actually, it's an okay place if you
enjoy country music and monster trucks. Yee-Fuckin'-Haw! But, for the
freaks like me that aren't into the White Trash Lifestyle, it's a boring place.
But, the good thing is that cities like St. Louis, Louisville, and Indianapolis
are all in driving distance! All in all, Evansville isn't THAT bad though.
You can find out more about Evansville by checking out the
  Evansville On-Line Homepage.

High school was the four most miserable years of my life. I hated the place
with a passion! I graduated from North High School in 1992. During the Summer
between my Freshman and Sophomore years, I started playing guitar. Mostly
because I was bored stupid. I had no friends, no one liked me and I needed
something to keep my mind occupied. It started out as a hobby, but it changed
my life forever! After high school, I went to  Vincennes University  in
Vincennes, Indiana where I studied mostly Music. That was probably the
best years of my life. I learned more in the classes I took in college then in
any classes I ever took in high school.

After college, I got my first real job teaching guitar at a little music store in
Vincennes called Alvis Music. It's a fun job. I love it! It sure beats
just about anything else I could be doing! And the people I work with
there are great! Special hiyas to David, Brett, Bobbi, the whole Alvis family,
Shawn Hawley and Dan Young!

By clicking here you can visit Dan's web site! WARNING!!!!!!!!!
It's not for the weak at heart. Don't say I didn't warn you!

(HEY BRETT!! Can I have a free guitar for the advertising?)

In January of 1998, my friend and former advisor at VU, Dave Parman called
me up and said they were having an overflow of people wanting guitar lessons
and asked if I'd be willing to come in as a part-time teacher. Of coarse, I said
yes. Can you imagine ME as a college teacher? I can't either, but it's true.
The inmates are running the asylum. Just for your information, my VU
students DO have to call me Prof. CaveDweller! :O) VU is a fun place to
work too. Special hiyas there to Dave Parman (who used to play in John
Mellencamp's band back in the 1970's), Scott Mercer (the best Jazz Guitarist
I know), Suzi Jackson, Rebecca Martin, Dan Miller, Linda Tucker, Michael
Howell and everyone else in the Music Department. From what I understand,
they are in the process of making a new web page for the VU Music
Department, but until they do, you can go here to read a little about it.

And finally, I'd be remise to not mention some of my favorite students. They
are the ones that truly make my job fun. Jeremy Clymer (when you get famous,
you MUST hire me as your personal guitar tech!), Martin Gonzalaz, Lyndsay
Lowe, Ashley Lanning, Elsa Stanczak, Lisa Stanczak, Matt McGlone, Diane
Pruitt, John Foley and all the rest.
(Let's not tell the ones NOT on the list that I have a web page, okay? They need to practice more!)

And then there's my friend Mandy Hopper who's not one of my students but
a friend none-the-less.

Also, there's my newest friend. Her name is Jen and she has a web site that
contains some great stories and poems and a whole bunch of other cool
stuff. Just click on the banner below to check it out!

So, in a nutshell, that's my life. Exciting, ain't it? Mona Lisa thinks so!
