Summary: Someone has died. Very twisted.

March funebre

The Federation flag draped over the torpedo casing. The crew stood on attention. Some sniffed, others looked impassive as the funeral march played softly.

"She died in the line of duty."

"She didn't foresee a malfunction in her phaser rifle..."

"I shall always remember her fearlessness."

"She inspired us all."

"The Captain loved Mahler."

"As a last respect we will carry the coffin through the corridors of her beloved Voyager," Chakotay said.

"I concur."

Neelix stared at the draped casing and frowned.

"Er, Commander," he asked, "who will be the ball bearings?"

"What?"

"Neelix," Tom whispered, "it's pall bearers..."
