20/5/98 QuakeWorld 2.21 & New Quake II Screen Shots

No, it's not out yet, but Zoid has smashed just about every bug / suggestion you guys have come up with.
There are a couple of v2.21 test servers online which have fixed that NASTY packetloss problem before. Also
in 2.21 map checksum is optional. Here are some west coast 2.21 servers for you to play with:
r3v Clan Arena #1 128.95.25.94 27500
r3v DM HELL 128.95.25.94 27501

This is only a test until the full 2.21 release sometime this week. Servers brought to you courtesy of demo
(server slut) at University of Washington and Clan r3v. (w00, check us out, #1 in QIL right now!)

And the new Offical Quake2 Mission Pack: The Reckoning will be released this spring.

"The title is being developed by Xatrix Entertainment. The new pictures give a closer look at the new enemy, the Gekk, and a look at what one of the levels will look like. From what we saw of the add-on when Xatrix came by GameSpot for a demo, the mission pack looks promising. In related Quake II news, Id Software announced on Monday that it had teamed up with Rogue
Entertainment to develop the second official mission pack for Quake II, Ground Zero. The add-on should be available sometime this summer."- GameSpot

19/5/98 QuakeWorld 2.2 Released & Microsoft's Got Problems(tm)

I finally got my webpage updated. I also got my own line put in so now more going off-line so someone else can use the phone.

QuakeWorld 2.2 was released recently. It fixed a ton of cheats and bugs in QW.

"Zoid has released Quakeworld 2.2, with these notes in his .plan file:

I've released QuakeWorld 2.2. I've also added a couple new ports
for this release: Sun Solaris x86 and Linux Alpha for servers. The
new QuakeWorld should work through various broken routers that
previous versions of QuakeWorld did not work with before.

QuakeWorld 2.2 is NOT COMPATIBLE with old versions (2.1 or
earlier).

The changes focused on security, cheating and gameplay. QW2.2
plays as close as possible to the original Quake, but with the
benefits of prediction. My beta testers were very excited about the
changes, and I hope everyone will enjoy them.

Please note: Team Fortress 2.6 currently doesn't work with
QW2.2. The Team Fortress team is aware of this and will be
releasing a small patch for servers ASAP.
As always, QuakeWorld is an unsupported product. If you have
any problems tho, you can report them to bugs@quakeworld.net."- quake2.com

Yesterday the U.S. Justice Department and twenty U.S. states have just filed suit against monopolistic software giant Micro$oft. Its about time. Linux is the way to go.

15/5/98 Eraser Routes

There are finally a 'final' version of the Eraser routes available. You can get them at:

Skull Plate's Quake II Bot Page

These are basically the best you can get, so go there and get em.

8/5/98 Eraser v0.99 Released

Finally Eraser v0.99 was released. This update fixed the following problems:

"Fixed a few minor problems in the last release, and added the ability to drop CTF flags in non-CTF
maps (they get saved in the node data, and are enabled by setting CTF = 1 before loading the
map, see readme.txt, "CAPTURE THE FLAG" section for more details). This effectively allows you
to play CTF in any Quake2 map." - Ridah

AND

"** New to v0.98 **

+ Fixed level progression crashes
+ Better button handling
+ NODES: One-way trigger_push brushes (don't drop reverse jump nodes)
+ mapmod_random cvar (random map progression)
+ bot_tarzan cvar (toggle bot's "advanced" use of grapple)
+ botpause, simulated pause (since PAUSE doesn't work during deathmatch)"- Ridah
