I have nostalgic feelings for some of the classic sci-fi movies that were produced in the 1950's, and well as the TV shows of that era. I used to watch Captain Video every afternoon Monday through Friday on our first black and white TV. This show, which was produced on a shoestring budget, ran from 1949 until 1953. The props and sets were as unconvincing as they could be, but my imagination filled in all of the gaps.

The earliest sci-fi movies that I can recall were The Thing (which scared me half to death), The Day the Earth Stood Still, Earth vs. The Flying Saucers, It Came From Outer Space (in 3-D), and the 1956 classic, Forbidden Planet.
