You climb up the steep path to the west.

Atop Amon Thranduil

The stony shoulder of Thranduil's hill rises out of the forest below; a rocky grey outcrop littered with great boulders and thin seams of soil where plants have taken root. In every direction the view is unobstructed for mile upon mile; to the distant west the misty peaks of the Hithaeglir stand shrouded ever by clouds, while closer to the east the lonely spire of Erebor rises solitary from the surrounding valley. Near its foot, the light often glints off of Long Lake, and likewise off the forest river Taurduin as it rushes under the cover of forest trees and finally beyond, flowing towards its end near Esgaroth.

The wind constantly whips across the top of Amon Thranduil, pushing and piling dry needles fallen from hilltop pines into long ruddy rivers which snake across the bare rock like seaweed left by lapping waves at a high tide line, and twisting trees into all manner of fantastic shapes. Doubtless left alone the pines and aspen which cling tenuously to the little rocky soil found up here would grow straight, yet buffeted constantly by wind and subject to the worst of summer storms, their limbs are gnarled and crooked, writhing about each other in a manner not seen in the more protected forest below.

The forest stretches away in an endless carpet of lush, mottled green, rich and vibrant during the long summer days. Upon the hilltop, a few brave wildflowers hold their own against the rushing wind, tracing colorful lines through the cracks in the stone and punctuated by the small-leaved green bushes of blueberry which bear slowly ripening fruit.

Overhead the sky is clear, and the sun merrily showers the woods with her gift of light and warmth.

Khyron says, "welcome Khillaure!"

Khyron readys his singing voice

Khyron looks around and brushes my hair from my eyes

The sun is casting the last of her merry red rays across the top of the hill. Soon, the stars will be out, but for now, the top of the hill is bathed in a reddish light.

That light seems almost caught in the hair of the tall elf who now makes his way to the top of the hill, and Rhuarc pauses a moment to grin at the gathered crowd before he closes in.

Climbing the white stairs, an elven maiden makes her way to the top of the hill. In the twilight sparkled her white dress, as if dotted with jewels as living stars. And it seemed like a white light pierced through the clothes of this lady, as if through a thin veil. In the middle of her dress, a symbol was embroidered with the finest gold thread, and rather than disturb, it combined the rays from her elven clothes: a golden beechtree with a little bird in among its branches, as a sun in a white sky. She is accompanied by a taller maiden, blonde as well. Calriel and the maiden make their way through the crowd, scanning for some of their close friends, smiling and nodding to some familiar people.

Ahhh the fun loving, merry making Elves of Eryn Galen have decided upon themselves that it is feast time once more! The mountain is buzzing with activity as final preperations are made. Rows and rows of long tables are organzied throughout the lawn each brimming with fruit and, of course, many many goblets and huge flasks of the Aran's finest wine. Their King is seated in the middle of the main table at the front of the proceedings. Around his head he wears a silver circlet of silver. A soft glow seems to be emenating from him. In his hands rests a goblet and every so often he takes a sip out of it. Elves are seen in the background rolling up barrels of wine, and crates full of cheese and other food. Kitchen orderlies scamper back up and down the hill to ensure all the courses of the meal will arrive on time. Elves come before him and bow low to which he greets with a smile and a nod of his head, letting them go out on their persuits of fun without worrying overmuch about the formalities of everyday court life.

Khyron smiles at Calriel

Under a tree, the slick body of a tall elf can be seen. He is looking at the sunset rather than anyone else, and the bright rays which will soon be replaced by the stars bounce and reflect off of his eyes. His fingers are swiftly running next to his body, as if playing un inexistant loot, or trying to catch the gentle, cool water of a fountain. His other hand is at times pointed at the stars, and at times brushes his hair, as the gentle music which emits from his lips brushes his ears, and he smiles at it. His whitish-green clothes seem to bend and waver to the sound of the music as well as the movements of his own hands, and even his slightly pointed ears seem to be excited yet calm all at once.

Brethul is standing next to one of the tables, drinking from the goblet in his hand now and then, the night air breeze shifting sometimes, making his brown cloak flutter around him.

Khillaure enters the clearing at the top of Amon Thranduil and scans the crowd of gathered elves, squinting slightly as the fading light of the sun shines brightly in her eyes. She keeps to herself, noding a silent hello to a few that she sees, and makes her way to a table laden with goblets and wine casks.

Suddenly, Nimwen who is talking to Kullervo away from most of the little knots of people, turns a bright red on her cheeks.

Rhuarc's pause concludes, and he begins to make way towards the king, calling to him, "What's this I see! An old sight I had thought forever buried under stone!" He laughs, "Welcome, Aran Thranduil, to the world above!"

Khyron leaning against one table Khyron looks at the sun seeing it almost set he smiles liking the stars immensely. His dark brown hair looking nearly black in the dim light and will look even more black once it is night his left hand pushes some hair from his face. He is looking very anxious as he has a song written for the festival.

Grel glances around the area

Thranduil looks at Rhuarc with a mixed expression of pain and amusement, "Why of Course Rhuarc, you can't possibly keep me locked away, safe from your nefarious plans forever can you?" His eyes gleam with mirth and he takes another draught of wine, "After all, I can't let you think you can get away with overmuch around here!" He rolling laugh comes out of the Aran, a summers storm.

Khyron says, "So brother you did get here alright"

Grel says, "Yeah, I got here in one peice.."

Khyron is over near the eastern side of the hill near one of the tables leaning against it looking at his brother who is maybe 3 meters away and then turns to see the sun just about to set smiling, "Tonight will be a night like no other I can feel it. I love feasts"

Along the winding path from the north gate a handful of elves make their way to the hilltop, rolling before them a particullarly big barrel. When they arrive on the culmination point, they can hardly be seen behind the wodden trum. On the last turn one of the elves grabs the barrel from behind at gets pulled atop of it. It's Uiavas and he smiles as he cheers to the public and in a merry voice is calling out "Ai! one last jewel we found hidden in the most remote corner of the deepest of cellars. One could think that our merry cellermaster wanted to keep that one for himself, the old drunkard!"

Standing up from his place at the tree, the rolling laugh of the Aran strikes his ears, and he seems to almost notice the Aran for the first time, or anything and anyone at the feast. Approaching the aran slowly, as if floating towards him. As the Aran is conversing with Rhuarc, Dagewedir comes near him, and sits down at one of the chairs very close to the king. Humming something to himself, he eyes the other elves gathered at the feast, yet his ears are perked up listening for a window of opportunity in which to start a conversation with Thranduil. His weight shifting from one side to the other like an impatient elfling, he starts humming one of the merry tunes he learned in the Hall of Song.

Grel nods to his brother and his eyes seem to glide along in the air as he looks around, nodding to everyone, he then turns to the sunset, and smiles to himself

Khyron looks at uiavas and starts laughing slowly at first and then nearly histerical at the joke and how big the barrel is and cheers along with the other elves finally gaining control and sitting in one of the chairs looking at the setting son once more

In great leaps and bounds Giluin comes charging up the hill making enough noise to disturb the very stones of Arda. Appearantly in rare form already Giluin laughs loudly and starts to sing..

There once was an Elf of the Trees,

Whose hands did hang to his knees!

I asked him one day if 'That does vex thee?'

'Its okay, I'm just a laiquendi!!!"

Starts to howl with laughter as if thats the funniest thing in the entre of Arda. Several Laiquendi murmor unapprovingly as he takes a large bow, many of the Erynedhrim laugh as they look on at him. He pours himself a large goblet of wine and goes off to see where the fun is.

Khyron says, "Brother what are you going to preform at the feast or are you going to do nothing," says that with a slight wicked grin in a joking manner to his brother Grel"

Hearing Uiavas's voice in the distance, a slight smile plays on Calriel's pale-dry lips, and she take one of the goblets and pours her and her companion a red whine. Taking in the vast crowd, Calriel listens quietly to some conversations around her.

Rhuarc smiles at the king, and continues his approach, weaving around elves milling about. One turns to him and grins so broadly that the other earns a clap on the shoulders from the Chieftain, and a soft, "Too much to drink already? I know not whether you should be ashamed or proud of yourself, mellon." With a broad grin he shakes his head, and at the end of that shake, he faces Thranduil once again, saying, with a laugh in his voice, "Ah, but things out of your sight fall into my hands whether you are within the halls, or without! For even now, I have agents down below, in your most secret wine cellars, plundering what they can of your guarded Dorwinion!" He winks at Thranduil and glances at the ground below him, as if looking through the stone below into the king's wine cellars.

Brethul raises an eyebrow at Giluin but shrugs and takes another sip from his goblet, glancing around slowly, probably looking for someone.

Grel looks over at his brother, grins slightly at the joke made, "Well, I was just thinking of standing around, hehe, if thats ok with you." His eyes go back to looking around, and they stop on the sunset before himself, his eyes then glance around for a chair

Khyron sees the wine and smiles with a wickedness actually this time as he says to his brother," Oh grel would you like some wine." he laughs and grins as well.

Walking up behind Giluin, Calriel grabs him by the shoulder. She pulls him a bit lower, and speaks into his ear "Now THAT was a great work of art. You never told me you were so skilled?" She grins and smiles playfully. Turning her attention to Rhuarc again, and then back to Giluin and says "You Erynedhrim are all the same.

Nimwen whispers lightly to Kullervo and glaces to Daegwedir a couple of times.

Grel turns to his brother, and grins, "Sounds good." Walks over to his brother, "So, what are you going to do?

Uiavas, having overheard the comment about plundering the kings wine cellars, steals of at the other end of the tables and plunges into anonymity into the midst of the gathered masses...

Khyron pours a large goblet of wine for himself and then one for his brother grel making sure to pour a bit more wine for himself as an old joke to grel because Grel is younger then he is saying as I hand the goblet to Grel," well I wrote a song for tonight but Id ont know when to sing it"

Calriel says in Morbeth, "<UNINTELLIGIBLE SPEECH>"

Khyron hears the unknown language and raises his eyebrow a bit getting a confused look on his face and frowning a bit but his smile comes back soon as he takes a sip from his goblet

Finally seeing his window of opportunity, Daegwedir comes into the conversation, "I believe that the wine cellers of our Aran are going to be quite exhausted, and less drunk than some of the merry elves in this feast." He chuckles and brings a goblet of fine wine to his lips, the red liquid enflaming them, and changing their pale color. "Aye Aran, the wine cellers worry me." this time, his chuckle turns into a loud laugh, as if all the cares of the outside world were washed away by the wine, and thrown out by the laugh. He twitches his nose, and eyes something in a certain hidden pocket in one of the many thin layers of his clothing.

Thranduil looks over and above Rhuarc, at the spectacle Giluin is making of himself and shakes his head softly laughing, "I would think you should higher better help in your smuggling ring Rhuarc! It looks as though your help has already drank what you have received!" An elf comes up to the king and refills his goblet... his gaze follow the party easily.

Grel smiles and takes the goblet while saying, "You will know when the time is right, brother, dont worry about that." He then takes a sip from the goblet

Khyron says, "and pray tell brother how do you know?"

Brethul walks to the edge of the area, sitting down at the bottom of a tree, watching the others.

Grel shrugs to himself and says, "Just a feeling you could say." He takes another sip of the wine within the goblet

Khyron says, "I think its the wine personally"

Khyron laughs loudly and smiles bringing his goblet up a bit and moves his head back and drinks his wine a bit faster drinking about a 4th of the goblet in one gulp

Grel laughs to himself and says, "Yeah, maybe."

Khyron nudes grel in the side and winks,"I wont tell anyone if you get a tad drunk unless you tell everyone that I might be too," laughs once more and gets up from his chair

Making her way to the crowd, Calriel heads for the seat of the Aran. Her tiny body finds it's way through the crowd as a morning breeze through the grass, and she quickly reaches Rhuarc's side. She stands there, quietly, waiting for her King to acknowledge her.

Light of step with countenance fair, summer flowers gay in her hair, the maid named Eilialhenel crests the hill, her laughter merry and rich as a rill.

Grel laughs to himself and says, "Yeah yeah, I wont tell, brother, heh, but if it slips out, wont be my fault." Grins to himself and brings the goblet to his lips and takes another sip of the wine

Khyron says, "Brother do you think that we should go to the king and see if he will say hello that would be indeed a wonderful experiance"

The sun sets over Mirkwood and the stars paint the forest in silvers.

Grel shrugs and says, "Sure, why not."

Brethul stands and slowly drifts off into the forest, a tired smile on his face, and vanishes amongst the trees.

Rhuarc laughs again, finally standing before Thranduil, though he turns to the side a bit to look towards Giluin, and still has his voice raised as if he is speaking over a crowd, "Ah, that one is but another part of the elaborate plan to make you feel at ease; the part of the plan to make you feel as if there is no way I could muster up enough support to add some of your finest wines to my own collection." He looks back towards the king and grins, "I can see it worked."

Khyron getting rather excited he smiles widely and jumps up and says, "GOOD EVENING EVERYONE!." Khyron loves the stars thats why he was so enthusiastic

Grel raises an eyebrow slowly to his brother, then laughs to himself

Khyron finishes up his wine rather quickly a bit dripping on his chin he quickly makes a wiping motion with his wrist and wipes the wine off looking at his brother he says, "Come on lets go"

Grel nods and drinks the rest of his wine rather fast and says, "Alright, lets go."

Eilialhenel takes a quick step sideways, taken aback as an elf springs up beside her to proclaim the coming of eve so loudly beside her. "Good evening!" she returns with raised voice, as she passes by.

Carrying a basket of fried lamb meat from the fireplace to one of the great tables, Uiavas passes near Calriel "Mae govannen Gwaedhan" he sais, and in a lowered voice he ads "It looks as if there is no turning back now. If trading missions won't be resumed soon we will face empty cellars - mainly the wine cellars!" He gives a quick look around at the merrymaking as to underline his point.

Khillaure wanders through the crowd, her goblet slowly draining as she meanders slowly toward the Aran's throne and the small group assembled there. "Good eve, friends..... Aran." she says as she nods at each in turn, "I hope that you are all enjoying yourselves?"

Khyron looking around quickly and grabs grels hand walking foward quickly and darting through the crowd with a great quickness trying to get closer to the king so the king would atleast know that he is around with his brother too of course

Thranduil smiles at Rhuarc and shakes his head, "Irregardless, Giluin is not making himself many new friends tonight I shuold think." An aide comes up to him, slightly winded, and speaks in a low voice, then bowing low and running away. Thranduil looks over at Rhuarc and smiles widely, "It would seem that the food and the wine are well stocked and will last us the whole while... I suppose it is time we shall officially begin this."

Thranduil stands and looks around the crows, watching them fall silent, waiting for their King to speak.

Calriel smiles at Uiavas, and only the few around her can hear her clear voice "Uiavas, do not worry, for we will leave shortly, after I have spoken to the King."

Grel 's hand gets grabed by his brother and he cant do anything but follow Khyron to the king, his eyes go from side to side looking at everyone as he passes

Calriel, now only three vadem away from her King, looks up at him; her noble tiny hands folded together on her back, and her grey eyes, as starlit nights, look up to await his words.

Khyron looking around quickly at all the elves he doesnt know he is still rather excited smiling slightly and see other laiquendi along with elves I do not know

Snatches of song slowly fall to a low murmur as the King stands, and elven eyes bright as any host of stars, silvan as they may be, turn upon their beloved king.

Grel says, "Brother, where exactly are we going?" He raises an eyebrow as he follows his brother to the king

Kullervo walks away without a noise, just like he had joined.

Kullervo walks down the path that weaves across the northern face of Amon Thranduil.

Khyron says, "Grel dont be such a fool this may be our only chance to ever get to meet the king even if he gets to talk to us but once it would be monumental"

Rhuarc nods to Thranduil, and steps aside and faces the crowd, holding his tongue until the king speaks.

Uiavas swings himself back on the big barrel, to have a better view at the head ot the table.

Grel says, "Ah, ok, I get it now." Looks around then whispers to his brother, "So where is he?"

Nimwen silently sits down in a chair and looks to the King.

Khyron jumps up and down trying to get a glimpse of the king over the numerous elves around, "I cant see him."

Grel says, "Man.." Tries to peek through some holes that are inbetween the many elves as he looks for the king

Khyron says, "who are you calling a man Grel??????????"

Grel says, "Oh, not calling anyone that, sorry."

Khyron says, "oh i thought you just called me a human there"

Giluin provides a withering look at the two noisy elves.

Khyron smirks at his brother a bit and then laughs smiling once more trying to get closer no matter how hard it is trying to get as close as possible

Khyron looks and sees his glance on us and says to his brother a bit quiter "he looked at us!"

Grel says, "He did?!" He then tries to pry his way thought all the elves a little closer to the king

Thranduil says, in a soft voice that yet seems to echo softly about the clearing, "Mellyn, I thank you all for your attendence and for your love and alligience. Tonight," his voice rumbles, "we gather to celebrate!!"

The crowd cheers loudly and Thranduil smiles and then starts to speak again... the crowds jubilant response gone as quickly as it arose.

"And we also gather to show our gratitude for the continuing bravery and skill in which many of you continue to show on a daily basis. I am not able to always show recognition where recognition is due, but know that your deeds and actions are always on my mind!! And with that, I give you all thanks!!"

A loud crash is heard, apprently the singl for something... columns and columns of elves begin coming up the hill carrying with them tall the fixings and the trimmings of the feast tonight.

Khyron cheers for the king looking at the feast and smiling very very widely, "Grel it started yes yes yes!!!!." jumps up and down and up and down very excited like a little child trying to gain composure again

Thranduil sits down, signiling the merriment to begin!! A make shift band of song and fife immeditatly starts to play, and many Elves join each other and begin to dance happily around the clearing, endeaourving to stay out of the feast bearers way.

Grel exclaims, "Alright!"

Daegwedir smiles to all the approaching elves as he sees all positions of importance in the great city come together. "fine faces friends, all fine faces. And for such fine faces, I am lucky to posses a fine spirit to aid the occassion." With those words, he glances around cautiously and swallows as a large ball is seen coursing quickly down his pale neck. Pulling out of his clothes a bottle of wine, marked with the seel of Esgaroth, he puts it in the middle of the gathered folk. "This spirit was sold to me fromt he finest winemakers in all of Esgaroth. The seller which gave this to me, told me that I should save this wine 'till i have chance enough to drink it with my king. And for such a merry occassion, and such fine edhel as yourselves, i am willing to share it with all of you as well." A wide smile spreads across his face, curling his features, and almost squinting his eyes.

Khyron says, "yes yes yes yes yes! Grel this is going to be great but I still have to find out when I will get to preform my little song"

Calriel joins the crowd around her in the cheer and nods approvingly. "Thranduil's feasts are always the best, and this is not one of his least, so to see!"

Khyron cheers along with the rest of the crowd smiling widely as I jump up and down and up and down looking from person to person

Grel walks over to his brother, looking around saying, "So where is it?

Khyron trys to get even closer to the king while everyone is cheering dragging his brother grel

Grel gets dragged along behind his brother close to the king

Nimwen slips quietly away.

Nimwen walks down the path that weaves across the northern face of Amon Thranduil.

Suddenly, as soon as the first Feast Bearer reaches the first table, all the Torches, standing in the ground, flame to life in a large white burst, filling the clearing with a bright incandesance and then making the clearing lighted.

Khyron jumps up just a bit as the torches come on a bit suprisesd and saying wow i didnt exspect that to himself in a soft whisper

Rhuarc grins at the king and nods, stepping into the crowd with a laugh. Moments later, he somehow finds a goblet of wine in hand.

Calriel steps forward, flanked by two aides of the Aran's diplomatic staff dressed in bright colours, and she folds her hands behind her back, waiting for her King to acknowledge her"

Grel looks around for a place to sit down

"Long it is since we last gathered up for songs and wine. and indeed there weren't many ocasions lately..." Uiavas stops in the middle of his sentance as the torches spring to life. "...and that will make this feast a tremendous one. There's so much fun to catch up with that we will probably whitness a explosion of joyfullness soon" he grins softly and makes his way back to the buffet.

Khyron seeing calriel he smiles thinking maybe that will work for me too trying to get as close to her as he can possibly be eventually reaching about 3 feet away from her and behind trying to get the king to acknowledge him and his brother as well

Grel continues to be dragged along behind his brother, he stands straight up, trying to pry his wrist away from his brothers grasp

Khyron looks back at grel and grabs harder and says in a soft whisper to Grel barely audiable even to myself, "do you want to see the king or not?"

Anyone attempting to track Rhuarc in his meandering through the crowd may find themselves dissapointed, as he is soon lost to sight.

Thranduil smiles at the Lady Calriel and bows his head to her, "You look very official this evening Lady, unfortunatly the King, who is I by the by, has hereby decreed that no business, of either an official, or unofficial matter shall take place on this night. However, if you have an announcment to make, I suppose if you can gain their attention," his head nods to the feasting Elves, "Then by all means make it!"

Grel sighs and says, "Yeah I want to see him, but you dont have to be so ruff..."

Khyron hearing that knowing it isnt any of his buisness but thinks that is indeed a good way to get attention and quickly goes through the crowd dragging grel behind me saying, "Come come we got to do something to get attention!!!."

Eilialhenel mutters with a smiles and a sidelong glance towards the diplomat, "Good luck with that!"

Grel gets draged along as usual, might as well get used to it, he follows his brother through the crowd

Khyron quickly darting through the great crowd he finally reaches a less crowded table saying to his brother,"okay I could sing my song you know but what are you going to do?." grabbing another goblet and pouring some more wine he quickly starts drinking from the goblet

One grey shadow leans quietly upon against one tall rock. Uneven moonlight paints shimmer's on this elf's hair when it is able to show through the summer clouds. Slowly he stands upright, and smiles, perhaps in light of the feast, or maybe the soft chirping of the crickets. With a nod to an elf near him, Gilthil says, "I have not seen such a feast in many months. I am sure none of us shall forget this, but maybe some of us will end up sleeping through the latter part of it, " with a laugh he stops talking. His bright eyes search the gathering, and land upon the table and wine.

Grel gets to the table with his brother, and sits down, looking at him kinda funny, he then says, "You must be nervous eh? Im not going to do anything but sit here right now." Gets another goblet, filling it with some more wine for himself and takes a sip

In one fluent motion, the maiden steps forward from between the aides, casting the hood of her long white cloak backwards. Her white dress was dotted with jewels as living stars, and sparkled in the twilight. And as the last rays of the sun danced playfully on her face, a look of pride crossed her delicate features. Looking up, her face is slightly radiant and in spite of her small appearance, she starts to speak with a clear voice full of gentleness. And as she starts to speak, a soft melody seems to fill the air around her. "Aran Thranduil, as was your wish I returned from the town of Esgaroth in time for your celebrations. However, I only recently arrived and speeded me here. Therefore I beg thy forgiveness for my official clothes." She pauses a moment and nods to the aide, who brings her a standard and a piece of cloth. Calriel resumes "I bring word from Brand, King of Dale, with whom I spoke last evening! Perhaps you would like to accept his gift during the celebrations?"

Uiavas pokes Eilialhenel and murmurs, "if it were written down on the tables in letters of grapes, then people would notice perhaps?"

Grel gets up from the table, finishing the goblet of wine and sets the goblet on the table saying, "Well brother, I must be going now."

Khyron says, "she has a gift from brand the king of dale how am I goign to top thatto get his attention...... my song better be pretty good"

Khyron says, "alright grel goodnight brother"

Grel walks behind his brother, and pats him on the back saying, "You will do fine, just dont get nervous, ok?" he then walks off into the darkness, behind some trees and finally out of site

Eilialhenel snorts delicately from her seat amongst the Erynedhrim by the king's arm as she rolls her eyes. "Elvish feasts for elvish celebrations. The human's gift ought to wait!" she proclaims to one of her clan-fellows as she holds a goblet aloft, punctuating her words.

Thranduil looks a bit shocked at Calriel's familiarity and brusqness with himself. Slowly a fey light seeps into his eyes and the clearing grows darker as the torches seem to dim with his mood, "My Lady Calriel, I know you're errand and your station, yet I have said what I will say on the matter. It would behoove you to drink some wine, dance, and have a merry time rather than try my patience in the middle of my own feast!" The torches suddenly spring back into full force as Thranduil laughs and calls for another round of wine for all those attending.

Khyron looking around his eyes wander from person to person and then up at the stars smiling just a bit he quickly drinks more of the wine a bit of it dripping on his chin again and falling on the ground he quickly puts down the goblet with a thud as he finishes his second goblet full of wine. thinking of when to start singing...waiting for the best time very carefully he looks around for something to eat.

Khyron seeing more wine he quickly takes it but doesnt drink yet only holding it as he looks at all the elves and trys to find someone to talk to.

Looking around sharply to Eilialhenel, and then back at the King, she nods, and turns around, her long golden hair flowing behind her like a river of golden sunrays. Without a word, she quietly finds her way to the stairs

Calriel has disconnected.

Khyron looks at calriel and frowns that Eilialhenel didnt like her idea

Eilialhenel leans back in her seat and shrugs as the Laiquendi maid disappears into the crowd. "She takes such offense at such minor things, one wonders how she ever became a diplomat!" she says, laughing easily as she takes a sip of her wine.

Khyron deciding that a good goblet full of wine will help me in the long run I start to drinkt he goblet that is held in his right hand his head going back slightly as the he drinks the wine with long swallows taking his time but at the same time rushing putting down his goblet for a second to take a breath he quickly finishes it off with one great gulp and puts the goblet down again smiling a bit now. His smile turns to a frown at eilialhenel thinking he would take just the same kind of offense that she just did.

Thranduil's laugh reverbates around the clearing, and he nods softly towards Eilialhenel, "She has a temper like a flint at times," he shakes his head chuckling to himself, "Ah, well, King Brand's gift will be here tomorrow lest she seems to have forgotten."

The dancing firelight of the torches casts strange shadows upon the face of Gilthil. His grin and laugh blend in with the noise of his folk surrounding him. His grin, although bright, blends with the many bright faces of the elves, but the brightness of his eyes gleam above most. "I have waited too long for this feast, and this wine, " the soft words he speaks produce laughter from those around him, "I see I am not alone!"

Giluin moves behind Eilialhenel quietly, a goblet of wine in his hand. He whispers to her, "What goes with the Laiquendi primadonna?" looking over at the fast fading form of Calriel. He faces his Aran and with a gentle laugh he bows low to his Aran and wanders away looking for other amusement.

Khyron frowns not likeing the Laiquendi bashing and takes offense to it standing up straight and standing out a bit in the crowd obviously a bit mad but trys to hide it the best he can

Eilialhenel giggles softly. "Living amongst humans," she says gravely, as if tihs explains it all.

At the far end of the area a couple of elves are starting to gather around a barrel. A soft music can be heard from that direction. Atop of the barrel, an elf has drawn a small flute from his pocket and some hearty jigs are reverberating across the clearing. The mellody goes up and down merrily and transmitts its movements to the legs of the passer-byes.

Giluin wanders over towards Gilthil smiling happily. Resting his hand on his hip he takes another sip of wine. "Well well mellon, I'm glad you could attend. There's something in the works for you I imagine..." he leans in and whispers to him, "I hear that the Aran was very impressed by your diplomatic efforts as well as your skill in battle!" With a conspiritorial wink he smiles and walks away.

Khyron is very very quiet but rather mad sitting down and waiting to cool off before starting his song

Khyron looking around he finally cools off and quickly runs from the area to get something

Khyron he comes back very quickly having ran the distance he comes back with a fiddle in his left hand and holding the bow in his right hand having prepared his song already and memorized it about to put music to it thinking of what time is a good time to do this waiting for exactly the right moment

Amongst the crowd, Gilthil, stands quietly. With a slow motion he brings a goblet of wine to his lips, and take a slow sip. His eyes narrow as he allows the wine to settle in his tongue, than with lowering the goblet, he swallows, "A finer wine I have never tasted." He abruptly stops speaking however when another elf approaches and speaks to him. He nods slowly to Giluin and replys, "I did what any one would have done had they been able to." A smile lights Gilthil's face again, and he watches Giluin walk away for a moment, but soon returns to his thoughts.

Khyron he sees his time about now as he quickly jumps up onto one of the barrels of wine balancing himself quickly and gains the attention of a few elves not many thoe yet as he almost looses balance putting the bow of the violin on the strings he begins to play briskly and vigerous as he sings,"Look up in the sky

Khyron stops quickly jumping down and laughing pretending it was a joke for now knowing that he isnt ready yet but will be..... very soon

As if on cue Aran Thranduil stands up and beckons everybody to be silent. The torchlight dulls down to a soft glow. Thranduil speaks in a clear voice with a soft ringing in it, "Gilthil, Edhel o Laiquendi, o Amon Thranduil; if you may please make your way forward to be addressed." He stops speaking and looks some what expectantly out among the crowd. Setting his wine down he claspes his hands behind his back.

Khyron becomes compleatly silent thinking wow that was good to stop and pretend it was a joke when I could

Gilthil takes a sip of wine, savoring the taste before swallowing. His attention is drawn away from this wonderous taste as the king speaks to him. Setting the goblet down, he slowly makes his way through the throng of elves and stops infront of Thranduil.

Eilialhenel thinks that Gilthil must be afully nervous but of course she is just tinking this so nobody knows taht she is tihnking this.

The flutist is playing some apparently well known tune now, cause the croud nearby is singing with him in unisono. Only flocks of the tune reach the ears of the more remotely placed audiance, but from the occasional words that make their way through the noise it can be guessed that it is about some elves on a river, barrels of wine and some sheeps. On the last note the elf on the barrel jumps down and smiles to the audience "Talking about wine... I'll have to see if the next barrels ar already on their way up. We don't want anybody to dry out her don't we?"

Uiavas walks down the path that weaves across the northern face of Amon Thranduil.

On Thranduil's face alights a broad smile, "Gilthil, mellon, when duty called you answered. When a foul enemy force threated those who have, for so long, been such allies with ourselves you did not hesitate to march to battle. This alone shows you are faithful. The deeds which you had wrought there, and the valar in which you preformed, has placed you above and beyond the comman expectations. Reports of your cunning and bravery in battle have reached even my ears. The skill in which you have shown defending those who who need it most is exceptional."

Thranduil pauses for a moment and then continues, "And for your deeds of warfare, and your amazing courage I now title you Gilthil, Taurveron o Amon Thranduil!"

Thranduil raises his hand however, this is not all...

Khyron looks intrigued

Gilthil bows his head as a bright smile lights his face. His whole body seems tense, but soon the elf raises his head. The moon sets a dim glimmer in Gilthil's eyes and with slow words Gilthil says, "I am most greatful to you Aran Thranduil..." The words die away as Thranduil raises his hand.

Thranduil continues, "And when the enemy force seemed to be insurmounteble by your numbers alone, you did what needed to be done. Through a combination of a deft hand and cunning wit you persueded an Eagle to carry you on its wings all the way to Erebor. And once there, you preformed the near miraculous act of convincing those rather..," he pauses for a bit a smiles, "stubborn people to send host that most likely changed the tide of the battle."

Thranduil holds his hand in the air gesturing towards Gilthil, "And because of your success, and your skill you are now also Gilthil, Manbedir o Amon Thranduil to Erebor."

He calls out, "Let it be known that Taurveron Gilthil, Manbedir to Erebor, has distinguished himself valiently and from henceforth hold all the right ands privledges to those of his stature! Rejoice and thank him for all that he has done!!"

Gilthil hands tremble for the briefest of moments as Thranduil stops speaking. With an elegance that only an elf may protray, Gilthil bows low before his king, "I am sure I do not deserve such honors Aran Thranduil, " he pauses than continues with a smile, " but since you present them to me my lord, I greatfully except them."

Thranduil laughs heartily and calls out, "Mae Govannen mellon and arise and recieve your thanks!!!"

The crowd of elves breaks into deafening applause, many coming over personally to congratulate Gilthil.

Khyron applauds loudly for Gilthil

Amid the approval of his kin, Gilthil smiles happily. A goblet meets the hands of the elf and with a sigh Gilthil takes a long slow drink from the sparkling wine. His thirst quenched Gilthil speaks quietly, perhaps to himself, "I may have done something great, but many of our kin gave something greater..."
