Home The two schools that I attended in Pilani were:

- Ceeri Bal Mandir (Ceeri Vidya Mandir)
- Birla Higher Secondary School (Birla Senior Secondary School)

Ceeri Bal Mandir

My first school....that I joined as a 3.5 year old child...A small school in our colony. ...

Managed by the residents of the colony itself. Nice teachers...they faced our tantrums from the day one..

It was a primary school, but our batch was carried on and this school became a middle school.

I used to take part in Debates, Dramatics and Quiz etc.

The picture below shows me in a drama called "Aaj Ka Arjun". Guess what, I was the mythological Arjun and my classmate Ashok Pardesi was today's Arjun. It was about the visit of Arjun and Krishna to a Border post.

We completed our class VIII and migrated to the Birla Schools. Boys went to BHSS and the girls went to BBVP.

  Birla Higher Secondary School

BHSS is a great school, established in 1901 by the Birla family.

Wonderful teachers, excellent facilities, very good library and a friendly environment.

I miss those days of arguments in the biology lab! Yeah, Biology was my favorite subject.

I still recall my project of using the potato as a battery!

And the NCC camp during class IX, at Pushkar, was a memorable one....

Both my schools encouraged innovations and there were annual science exhibitions.

I was a regular feature there....with my new little gadgets.....It was great fun!
