Kingdom on the Edge of the Abyss
By Elizabeta
October 22, 1997

The rich and the royal and those who live in castles of tin foil
who pick plastic flowers while cities crumble under their power
cry over a chipped teacup while millions die.
The Queen who wears the Veil of Pretense sobs over a chipped nail
while the King checks his e-mail.
He's hoping for a letter from a woman he knows he better
not tell the Queen about because after all, it's an online affair.
He ignores everything because he really doesn't care
about anything other than emails sealed with toxic kisses.
They're both in love with love and high on fatal bliss.
The kingdom's on the edge of the abyss.

They all jump in their fancy cars and try to go far,
but the stars never shine no matter where they are.
They live on hate which drives them to their fate,
and their little world's gonna end a little too late....
a little too soon.
The cows fell over the moon.
Now they're lost in space but it's a better place
than the mirror where they can see the face
that killed millions with just a look
and closed their book...forever.

They abuse what they can't use and they can't stop when
it comes to the people.
They're never gonna be through but that's nothing new.
Nail another nail into the coffin
that they'll carry another one off in.
It's a sin but the Royal family strikes again.
Their kids are depressed because their parents are obsessed
in how to oppress and how to impress
the fools who think that they truly rule.

The starving come to the door looking for something more
than a kick in the face and being ignored.
The royalty sits there and laughs while the peasants bleed on the floor.
The royalty says nobily, "Tell the peasants to go away.
"Drown them in their own tears like they do with all the strays."
So the poor go ahead and take their own life while the royality
butters their knives.

Row, row, your boat gently down the stream, merrily, merrily
life is but a dream.
They think the world revolves around them.
It will be such a horrible sin
when they find out that they'll never win.
Their world begins crumble and the ground starts to rumble
and then their egos take a tumble.
They're all all on the edge of the abyss
and their fate has come down to this.
Their world is going down.
The pieces are falling all around...All around
They can't win because the monsters who kill them
are really products of their own sin.
They can't stop the end - they were doomed to begin
This is the end - welcome to the end.
