Golden Sunset - Tribute to a Cat
By Elizabeta
July 24, 2001
I miss you
I miss you at the headboard
clawing at the blinds
because you were too delicate to be let out
in your hideyholes
your hidden places
where you would go
to sleep
begging for food
licking off all the gravy
climbing up to the window
you sat
orange majesty
golden sunset
flips in the air
landing on soft carpet
you watched the play thing
hopped wildly around
you had everything
but health
I've never seen anyone suffer
your eyes
begging for comfort
begging for a cure
but there was none
people search for it to cure each other
but one has yet to be found
I hurt more than I let on
I cry too easily as it is
but it's like I'm suffocating
it's like a dreary winter day in the middle of July
you disappeared
I let you go
there are no absolutes...
if you believe in miracles or lie to yourself
maybe I'll see you again someday
