"TOO WET FOR COMFORT"

Part Four

"The current is too strong for us to jump out!" Bill yelled over the crashing sound the waterfall made. We were about to go over the falls!

"THUD!" the log had hit a rock and temporally stopped. The rock was going to break lose at any minute. It seemed that all hope was gone for Bill and I. Then we heard a noise.

"FRED! BILL! CAN YOU HEAR US?" It was Alleah and Freddy! Our hope had returned!

"YES WE CAN!!!" we replied back." HELP US!"

Alleah looked around for something to help us get to shore. She spotted a stick lying on the ground.

"ALLEAH AND FREDDY! CAN YOU PUSH THAT STICK OVER HERE?"

"I'LL TRY!"

She and Freddy began pushing the heavy stick. It wouldn't budge. The rock began to break lose some more. They pushed harder and the stick almost rolled over the bank!

"DON'T DROP THE STICK! IT'S OUR ONLY HOPE!"

They grabbed it just in time. They began to push it over to us.

"HURRY UP! THE ROCK IS GETTING LOOSER!"

Freddy pushed it right over my head. I leaped up in the air and caught the stick with my mouth.

"BILL! JUMP UP AND GRAB MY LEG AND DON'T LET GO!" I screamed down to him.

He jumped up and grabbed my leg. I tried not to yell in pain.

"FREDDY! ALLEAH! PULL ME UP!"

"WE'RE TRYING!" Freddy and Alleah as they moaned and grunted. "UGH, WE WE HAVE GOT A PROBLEM...."

"WHAT?" I yelled.

"WELL, UM, UH, WE CAN'T GET THE BRANCH UP! WE CAN'T HOLD ON TO IT! IT'S GOING TO FALL!"
