Ghosts of the Antipode Joining Information

Unlike most Starsiege squads and organizations, the Ghosts of the Antipode has no recruiting division, no recruiting servers, no recruiting posts on the Starsiege forums. We accept a very limited number of people, and those we do accept have to fit a certain set of requirements. These requirements are listed here.

Writing skill: the enlistee has to have writing skill, specifically, the ability to write coherent, detailed, narrative fiction. More specifically, the enlistee must demonstrate an ability to write Starsiege or Tribes fan fiction that fits with the official storyline and that of the Ghosts. An enlistee must post a story introducing their Starsiege or Tribes character, and it must be possible to fit this character into the existing Ghosts storyline.

Behavior: an enlistee must withstand a check into his or her background within Starsiege and/or Tribes, and if this person is found to have a history of bad behavior, the application for membership will be denied.

Commitment: an enlistee must be willing to make use of whatever skills he or she possesses whenever needed to help the squad.

Regarding membership in other units: The Ghosts is a writers' organization, not a squad or tribe in the traditional sense. There should be no conflict of interest between whatever squads the enlistee is currently a member of and the Ghosts, and membership in other units will in no way affect one's application to join the Ghosts.

Regarding combat: Rarely do the Ghosts engage in combat together. Members are nevertheless expected to be on their best behavior in the servers either as independent pilots or as members of their squads. If it comes to our attention that a Ghost is engaging in improper behavior, there will be disciplinary action, whether the offenses are personal or as part of another unit. "My squad is at war" is not an acceptable excuse for bad behavior, indeed, no excuses are acceptable.

How to join: If you are interested in joining, simply post a message to this effect on the Ghosts forums. When it is noted that you want to join, you will receive an email asking for certain information, that you should respond to. When this has been taken care of, you will either be accepted or not, based on the current status of the Ghosts, your writing skill, personal relations and enmities with the current Ghosts, and whatever other criteria may be deemed necessary.

Please note: your application will be discussed with the Ghosts, and a final decision will be made based on this discussion and the other criteria previously explained. The final decision will be made by the Ghosts leader. If your application is denied, the decision will be explained. You may be given a date when we will reconsider your application.

After a year of operation, it has never occurred that the Ghosts were forced to drop a member. We do not intend to start.
