        Welcome to my book reviews. This page was inspired by The Good Reading Guide (now defunct?), a great resource for science fiction and fantasy readers, containing short and sweet reviews of tons of books. I'm not shooting for in-depth reviews here, mainly just some brief thoughts on each book I've read to help keep me organized. If it gives others some ideas for good books to read or keeps them from buying some bad ones then that's great too.

        If you'd like to talk about books or my web page you can e-mail me. I'm always looking for good books to read. In particular I need advice as to how to better organize my pages, so it's more readable, looks good, etc. Feel free to criticize.

        Science fiction and fantasy novels mostly. Although occasionally I'll read something else. In the past I've preferred long series of books over individuals. This is starting to change as I'm beginning to wonder if most authors can maintain a consistent level of quality throughout several books. Also, if a series has a definite conclusion, like The Lord of the Rings, I'll always wait until I have all books in my possession before I begin reading. I just don't like to wait a year or more to find out what happens. So I've bought a few books that I'll never read, but better that than reading half a series only to find the author died or something.

        There may be some minor spoilers in here. Maybe even a few major ones, although you'll probably find more spoilers in reading the back of your books or looking at the cover picture. Still, read these pages at your own risk.

        I read these books over a period of 15 years or so. Therefore for many of these books I remember few details. I've tried to accurately recall my impressions. Additionally, my taste in books has changed. So, that book that was great when I was 13 would not impress me now. I've tried to base my reviews on current opinions.

        I've not included any books that I've had to read for school unless I might have read it anyway. So, The Return of the Native is not here, but The War of the Worlds is.

        Any books in a shared-world series, like Star Wars, are listed together, under the series name, not the authors'. Meta-fiction, like The Atlas of Middle Earth, is listed with its subject, not independently.
