Everquest
Online Computer Game
[4-03-2002 05:30 PM]

I have played Everquest off and on for over three years. I found the game very addicting. The game is online with everyone else playing a character just like you are. I made many friends playing Everquest, some of whom I actually met in real life.

There is so much to Everquest this column could go on forever. Not only that, but the game is always evolving. The game I started playing years ago is different than today. Verant is constantly attempting to advance the game. An example is rubicite armor. When I started playing, rubicite was the best armor in the game. Now, rubicite doesn't drop anymore in the game and there are much better armors available instead.

Before the Kunark expansion I was proud of my shaman's Bloodstained Tunic and Gatorscale Leggings, considered good armor even for high levels. After Kunark came out I quickly got a Jarsath Scale Breastplate and Leggings from Karnors Castle because my old armor was suddenly inferior in comparison. Then after Velious came out I got a pair of Gladitator Leggings from the Giants and the Spirit Weaver's Breastplate from the Plane of Growth, again drastically upgrading equipment. If I were still wearing the bloodstained tunic I would be laughed at by other high level players. Since then, Shadows of Luclin was released, another expansion, and there is even another expansion in progress called Planes of Power. Every expansion makes players play many more hours to again upgrade to the new high-end equipment.

My advice to learn more about the game as it changes is to regularly check websites like castersrealm and allakhazams, and ask people questions in game.
