Agoraphobia, Panic Attack Disorder & Anxiety

"The BITCH doesn't discriminate!"

I have Agoraphobia, Panic Attack disorder, death separation anxiety, and PTSD from a head injury sustained in car accident in 1977 and other head injuries from * domestic abuse, "non-typical anorexia", (I can't swallow or eat from stress & have Piloric stennosis), extreme Hypoglycemia, insomnia and have had episodes of Schizophrenia, (drug and naturally induced/displaced).

I have low vision due to bilateral advanced Amblyopia, a lazy eye disorder I was born with.

* I am also a survivor of a 17- year stalking from an obsessed college boyfriend and a domestic violence victim forced to flee my hometown.

The biggest challanges I live with are Agoraphobia, Panic Attack disorder and low vision.

Something really bothers me about the typical SI criteria, (MPD, BPD, PTSD, etc.), I continue to observe on many medical websites and have addressed with their owners.

I almost never see Agoraphobia and Panic Attack disorder as lure for SI and I have never seen a physical constraint docummented. I am having more panic cases join The Cutting World Webring lately, (a growing minority), and I see lots of panic SI'ers in my net travels. I strongly feel, especially as one, we ought to be acknowledged too.

Personality and neurotic disorders have taken the lead over psychotic disorders and phobias where SI is concerned. But the later mentioned are valid bases for the byproduct of self injury. Also please know that there are cases of patients with PHYSICAL impairments that lead to SI.

In the USA alone a surveyed 1% of the population are self injurers. Obviously, like my own surveys, these are not representative statistics as they are the only "known' cases.

See? The BITCH really doesn't discriminate!

Medications

I have taken a plenthora of different medications for over 20 years that I have not benefitted by. In fact many of these have made things much worse. Medicaltions that I have found helpful fairly recently have been Risperadol, Xzyprexia Olanzapine and various Benzondiazapines. Although these meds have worked the best for me, Risperadol and Xzyprexia have had very bad side effects, such as extreme lithargy, tremmors, schizophrenic, tendencies, lack of energy and just plain lack of a "soul". Benzos have worked the best, such as Valium and Kolopins. Although I have encountered no side effects from these drugs they carry a very steep price of a long half life and can eventually lead one to become highly addicted. I currently take Kolopins for Panic Attack, but only when I desparately need to. They do work very well for anxiety.

I take Ambien to facilitate sleep but have a tollerence to this as well.

What has worked best for me is Chineese Accupuncture, Herbal medicine and Homeopathy. However, your system but be clear of most western medicines and coffee for this approach to work effectively. It does work BEAUTIFULLY, though!

My best reccommedation and my docs all agree is proper and adequate FOOD AND SLEEP is the essential first!
