The following is a list and brief description of new species of Homo sapiens. Research into these new mutations is on going.
Homo bufficus
Homo bufficus is a species that was first sighted in 1992. Though it didn't become wide-spread until 1997. Those subjects studied proved to have an obsession with pointy wooden sticks, which some referred to as 'Mr Pointy'. When their habitats were investigated items discovered included a variety of weapons, including the pointy wooden sticks, bottles of holy water and crosses. When interviewed by researchers they claimed that there were such things as vampires and other demons all around us. That when people referred to 'gangs on PCP' they were actually talking about vampires. They also claimed that in all the world there is one girl who can stop all evil beings...A slayer. Many subjects refused to trust any English researcher claiming they were Council representatives. Research into the species continues.
Homo faithicum
Homo faithicum is a species that appears to have many similarities to Homo bufficus. This species does vary in the respect that subjects all have an additional obsession with leather. Researchers found interviewing the subjects difficult as they tended to be very defensive and when answering questions. They also added grunts and 'five by five' comments. Virtually all answers involved some form of sexual innuendo. Research is on hold while a 'Slayer' dictionary is scripted for use with both Homo bufficus and Homo faithcum.
Homo titanicus
Homo titanicus is a new species. It is a variant of the species Homo sapien that has mutated and developed an obsession with the Titanic. Several of these subjects have created their own habitats on the WWW where they can fully submerse themselves in the Titanic saga. In many cases the specimen has the need to listen to Celine Dion,'My heart will go on',daily or risk losing sanity. However, some researchers believe that actually listening to this track daily could be the cause of increased rates of insanity across the world. Research into this theory is being carried out at this time.
Homo smithis
Homo smithis is a species that was first discovered in 1987 by American researchers. This new species started to spread slowly after this time. The occurrence of this species increased rapidly from 1991 and is still increasing in numbers today. This species has developed a necessity to read books about mythological creatures such as vampires, witches, werewolves shapeshifters and shadow men. Their mating ritual involves a searching for an organism that they know of as a ‘Soulmate’. Homo smithis can be found in large numbers in certain areas. These have been found on the WWW and are in most cases known as circles. These circles are groups that Homo smithis has set up to discover other Homo smithis from around the world and discuss their thoughts on what is believed to be the source of the mutation, books by L.J. Smith. Members of this species involved in these circles adopt names obtained from these books. Homo smithis have a tendency to become agitated when books by this author are taken out of print or while they wait for a new book to come out. Conclusions about the behaviour of this species has proven them to be highly sociable and also a substantial number have great talent at writing poetry, stories and even songs. Research into this species is on going.
Homo stressis
Homo stressis is a species that has been on the increase. It has been around for many years now but in recent times has been increasing greatly. This mutation appears to arise particularly during the teenage years. Studies of members of this species have proven that the mutation is a process that takes many years to occur. The time that the mutation starts varies depending on the country of origin. The most studied are those from England. English Homo stressis begin to mutate at the age of 11. By the age of 16 the mutation has progressed quite substantially. This coincides with the sitting of GCSE exams. The most noticeable change occurs at 18. During the months of June to August many species complete their mutation into Homo stressis. This completion of mutation coincides with the sitting of A-level exams. In some extreme cases mutation goes further to create the species Homo insanitus. This species is usually found in a padded cell where the species Homo sapien have placed them for their own protection. When subjects of Homo insanitus are studied they usually are unresponsive to normal conversation. However if asked a question they will usually undergo an episode which usually includes repetition of the words “Read the question twice” or “Check the sign and units in your answer.” Research into possible vaccines have proved that subjects that win the lottery or drop out of education at an early stage do not progress to further stages. A current research project is studying if the effects are reversible. At this time the results are inconclusive.
Homo philus
This is a species that was first discovered in America in October 1993. This species has a fascination with the paranormal and ET’s. This species appears to have two idols. These idols are often the topic of discussion when groups of Homo philus gather. Research has discovered that the names given to these idols are Fox Mulder and Dana Scully. In 19th June 1998 researchers reported an unusual occurrence. All over the USA on that date Homo philus emerged from their homes, schools and places of work and converged on movie theatres all over the country. The researchers believe this to be linked to ‘Fight the Future’. They expect similar occurrences over the next few months in other countries around the world. Homo philus have a code for communication. This code uses words such as CSM, X and WMM. Research into this species continues.
