Bizzaro Boxes!
These are boxes that just may have been been carried to school
by Bizzaro Superman's kids.
The 240 robert Was a rescue show in the 1980's. only a couple of boxes were
made for trade shows. Shortly after this, the show bombed big
time. I have been told there are only four or five of these boxes
in existence. One for every person who watched the original series
I guess.
The Volkswagon Bus Is another very rare box. This box came out in the 1960's and
featured a thermos with familiar VW logo on the top of the lid.
Oh yeah, If this lunchbox is rockin, Don't come a knockin.
The Toppie elephant was the mascot a trading stamp known as "Top Value Stamps"
based in the ohio area. This box was a promotion-only item for
the company so don't start searching the attic for your mom's
old stamp booklets.
It's About Time! This dome box was produced by alladin in 1968. It is a very colorful
and has tons of action. The only problem was that the show got
cancelled before the box hit the market. Sound familiar? Alladin
also did this in 1978 with "240 Robert"
Officially, the last metal lunchbox manufactured was the Rambo
box in 1985. The Roscoe lunchbox Is one exception. Roscoe is actually short for Recycle
Our Steel Conserve Our Enviroment. The box was produced by amercian
steel something or other (they have the same logo as the pittsburg
steelers). A really neat, streamlined box.
"Hey! I've got an idea for a new lunchbox! Let's paint a dome
box to look like a loaf of Bread. Even better! We'll shape the thermos like a can of campbell's
soup!.........You know, this is really good hash!"
Needless to say this box was a total flop and was left to mold
on the shelves.
