Jaede

Gu`davr ta ve or Good Day to you.
My name is Jaede, and I have been living here in Camelot
for two years now. The tale of my coming or more truthfully
running away to here is a bit long, but I shall try to tell it.

I was born in June of 1082AD in the small villiage of Glenvale.

Not much of note could be said of my childhood
besides being drilled to be a dutifull daughter,
in the hope that one day I might fetch a higher dowry.
My overly proud parents were oft wanting for money,
keeping the appearance of modest wealth was of most importance.

Chance would have it as I neared handfasting age,
villiage folk gossiped in my parents hearing, my beauty
would win me a rich husband. In their greed,
I became a means for them to secure riches by marriage.
When Lord Valdmir asked for my hand they speedily agreed,
quickly arranging for my wedding, without my consent.

Lord Valmir's holdings in Glendale were vast, and his influence
reached most in the villiage, mainly to their downfalls.
It was unwise to go against his wishes, the villiagers
found it best to live in misery than to face his wrath.

The wedding date was fast approaching.
I begged my parents not to marry me to Valdmir, but,
they had become fast friends with him eager to claim kinship
with the rich lord.
I was trapped.

That was when I decided to leave them.. leave them all
to their misery and riches.

I left on a moonless night, taking the only road out that led
from the villiage. I knew I would be pursued so I
tried my best to make good time away, seeking rides
from fellow wayfayers, when I heard of Camelot.
Luck shone upon me to find the road to Camelot.

Upon arriving, I found shelter and asylum at WolfKeep.
The kind Lady Wenndolyne and Lord Wolf even agreed to let me
prepare meals for the Keep, giving me a stipend for my efforts.
It was the only thing I was glad my parents had taught me.

Being a maiden of courting years, it was unwise to be without
a Guardian. Lord Wolf had much to keep him occupied,
with leading the WolfPack, and his other duties of which I
could never hope to understand. T`Shel, a businessman,
was in Camelot most nights. I noticed his kindness to all
there, willingness to help his fellow man, and steadfastness
to uphold what is right and good. He delightedly accepted
to be my Guardian when I asked, and rapidly became the father
I never had.

I shall never forget, the day I first met Kavin.
He came to the Firehall and sat back in a chair, propping his filthy
boots up on the table! When I asked him to mind his
manners and put his feet down he crossed his feet so even more
dirt fell on the table! I informed him that people
do eat off the tables. Finally, with much persuasion,
he put them down. Thus began a new chapter in my life.

During this time, Lord Valdmir had not forgotten
his bride that got away. While Kavin and I
became friends, sharing our stories and
falling in love with the grudging consent of T`Shel,
Valdmir was making plans to "rescue" his bride.

Valdmir made his move, boldly stealing me away from WolfKeep.
Father (T`Shel) and Kavin were helpless to stop him, so cunningly
had he planned his ambush and capture.
They both vowed to bring me home.

Tomorrow... for better or for worse, learn of my fate.
