Rachel Summers

Rachel Summers was born to the X-Men known as Scott Summers and Jean Grey in her grandparent's home in Anandale-On-Hudson, New York. Rachel grew up and befriended the X-Men. One day, Rachel's mother, Jean, was in Pittsburgh and the place she was in exploded. She died. Rachel was heart broken. Then a few years later, the world went upside down((not literally)). Sentinels slaughtered mutants and superhumans((i.e. Spiderman, Invisble Woman, etc.)). The government gathered telepaths to slaughter mutants. Rachel was one of them. As matter of fact, she was the best. The government eventually put her in the South Bronx Internment Center. There she reunited with the X-Men[Colossus, Wolverine, Shadowcat, Storm, and Magneto]. Rachel also met the son of Invisible Woman and Mr. Fantastic, Franklin Richards. They fell in love. Then one day, the X-Men planned to escape the center. They took off the inhibitor collars that neutralized their powers. Rachel sent Shadowcat's psyche to the past. They had a theory that if they prevented the assasination of Senator Robert Kelly. They went into the sewers underneath the city((it is destroyed)). The Sentinels found them and killed Franklin. Rachel was furious, so she killed the robot. The X-Men went into the Baxter Building((former headquarters of the Fantasic Four)) and Rachel took care of Kate's((Shadowcat...but in the present...her nickname is "Kitty"))body. They attempted to destroy the sentinels, but they all died and Rachel felt them all die. Kate's psyche returned, the assasination was prevented but the future was still the same. Kate and Rachel went to face Nimrod. Kate said the word "Phoenix" and Rachel's power sent herself to the past. Kate was left behind. Unfortunately, she couldn't phase through the walls and Kate was disintergrated by Nimrod's energy blast.

Rachel was in our time. She went to a nightclub. The owner took her to his house. He treated her kindly. Rachel was taking a bath while Nick((the nightclub owner)) prepared dinner. Then Rachel could no longer feel his psionic presence. She walked out of the bathtub, put on a bathrobe and walked to the living room. She touched his head and his body disintergrated. Then a mutant attacked Rachel. Rachel fought the vampire known as Selene. Selene killed Nick by stealing his life essence so she could live. The house went on fire. The X-Men arrived and drove Selene away. They took Rachel in. Rachel then became an X-Man. But this timeline was completely different, her father was married to Madelyne Pryor and her mother was dead. She was upset because that would mean she would never exist. She stayed in our timeline.

One night, she went to her grandparent's home and went to their room. She saw a crystal ball that had the personality of Jean Grey , her mother. She levitated it and a great amount of energy became one with her. Now, Rachel was Phoenix.

As Phoenix, Rachel had the universe at the palm of her hand. One night, she flew to San Francisco to kill the Beyonder. All of her attempts failed. Beyonder decided to give Rachel some of his power, that way she could kill him. Unfortunately, he teleported all of the X-Men((except Nightcrawler)) to San Francisco. The Sentinels just happened to be there. Rachel had a choice. Either kill the Beyonder((resulting in the X-Men's deaths)) or save her teammates((then she wouldn't be able to kill him)). She chose to save her teammates. Spider-Woman I((Jessica Drew)) let the X-Men stay in her home. That night, Phoenix had an idea. If she stole the life essences of the X-Men, she would be able to kill Beyonder((Note: Beyonder didn't take his power back)). First, she stole Shadowcat's, then Rogue's, then Jessica's, then Colossus', then Magneto, then Wolverine. She walked into Storm's room to steal her's but Storm refused. Rachel stole it anyway. She flew in space to the Starjammer and stole Corsair, Xavier, Lilandra, Raza, Hephizhar((misspelled)) and C'hod. She arrived to the M'Krann Crystal and stole Jahf's((guardian of the M'Krann Crystal)) essence too. They went inside the crystal. Rachel was ready to kill Beyonder. Storm convinced her not to because she would be killing innocent beings. The borrowed essences were returned to their rightful bodies. Beyonder was going to destroy the universe. He asked for his power and she gave it back. Somehow, he became compassionate and decided not to destroy the universe.

Weeks passed, and Rachel had nightmares of Wolverine killing her because Rachel stole Wolvie's lifeforce without asking. She asked Storm if Wolverine was ok(The X-Men went to the Morlock Tunnels, because Wolverine was severly injured).  She said he will live and walks away.  Rachel and Rogue talk and have a minor argument.  Rachel runs away.  She has another dream and wakes up in a New York City alley. She walks to the subway and falls asleep there. She wakes up and sees a cop.  Rachel remembers a guy similar to the cop.  She runs off and sees the builiding that was burned down while her battle with Selene.  She swears that Nick's death would be avenged(although she forgot his name).  

Rachel enters a hotel and telepathically manipulates the Black Rook to help her get into the Hellfire Club unnoticed.  She succeeds and calls a maid to the Black Rook's room.  There, Rachel telepathically attacks and gains information about Selene's whereabouts.  Selene was somewhere on the 3rd floor.  Rachel found her sleeping peacefully.  Rachel notices about Selene's Black Queen outfit.  She remembers her mother telling her it was her title("Jean" was the Black Queen in Uncanny X-Men#132-134).  She attacks Selene and have a less than 5 minute fight.  Rachel had defeated her.  Just as Selene was about to be murdered by Phoenix, Wolverine had come in.  He tried to stop her from killing Selene.  Rachel says, " The only way to stop me, Logan, is to kill me."  Wolverine unsheathes his claws in Rachel's chest, puncturing her heart and lungs.  Rachel somehow escapes and is lying down in Central Park nearly dead.  She noticed a pile of clothes and ashes.  Rachel knew it was Selene's doing and she empowers herself as Phoenix.  She teleports to the Morlock Tunnels and attacks Wolverine.  She throws him on a railroad track.  A train just happens to be coming.  Shadowcat saves Logan.  They arrive in the John Lennon Park.  They find Rachel, but they aren't the only ones.  Selene, Black King, Black Bishop, Black Rook, and Tessa were Rachel-hunting as well.  The two teams fight while Rachel is lying down and bleeding to death.  She decides not to help her teammates. She thought the X-Men no longer cared for her and if she joined the fight...she would die, since it was taking all of her power just to stop the bleeding.  Nimrod, a sentinel from Rachel's future came and fought both the X-Men and the Lords Cardinal(Selene's team). She walks off to a stage and sees a woman with silver hair(the woman is Freedom Force's Spiral).  Rachel goes with her.

However, Rachel is rescued from Mojoworld by Nightcrawler, Shadowcat, Meggan, and Captain Britain. After her rsecue, Rachel suggested that they should continue Xavier's dream and they formed Excalibur and set their operations in Braddock Manor and later on Muir Island. Jean and Rachel had talked and Jean said that Rachel might be born. After Jean and Scott's wedding, Rachel has to switch places with Captain Britain in the timestream. Rachel asks Shadowcat to hold her when she is born She does so and is never seen again(Excalibur#75), but Captain comes back. Rachel forms a group called A'skani(sp.) in the 40th century, then she dies of old age.
