STYLE

Skin may not be fashion conscious, but he does have a distinctive look. Here are some of the things he's been known to wear.

BURGER BOY

The last uniform Skin wore was not as a superhero or a student... but as a fry chef at an L.A. fast food joint. It may not be dignified, but it's an honest job! Some of you could take a lesson from that. Get a haircut, and get a real job.

ORIGINAL UNIFORM

All of the original uniforms the kids of Generation X wore served function before form. They were designed for protection, and to allow the students to more easily use their powers. Most of the costumes were essentially the same, only Chamber and Skin wore unique uniforms. Skin's consisted of simply a vest (sometimes with short sleeves, otherwise with protective shoulder pads) and a pair of shorts. This allowed for great freedom of movement, allowing him to make use of skin from most of his body, but it did restrict the use of skin around the costume itself.

MASKED UNIFORM

Not long ago the kids of Generation X wore costumes designed in the style of the original X- Men's uniforms. These suits not only provide protection, but also to provide a disguise, complete with masks and a more generic super-hero appearance. Again, Chamber and Skin are singled out with unique costumes. Skin's is skintight from forehead to toe, allowing him to stretch the skin on any part of his body without having to worry about the constrictions of normal clothing. This is done using the "unstable molecules" designed by Dr. Reed Richards (a.k.a. Mr. Fantastic, who has his own stretching powers), that allow any costume made from them to not only conform to the users body, but also to adapt to whatever the wearer might do with them (for example they can survive the Human Torch's flames, or stretch as far as Mr. Fantastic can).(more information can be found at to www.2kcomics.com)

COUNTER-X UNIFORM

Skin recently used an adaptable uniform, as were each member of Generation X. Designed to combine form and function, and to be completely adaptable to suit the needs of the individual wearer. In Skin's case, he has added thick, baggy pants (presumably made of a thick protective material, possibly with storage pouches) and large, tough boots. The full uses and extent of adaptability to this costume is unknown.

SMART UNIFORM

Skin was last seen costumes made of "smart material" that Emma said, "cost me a bomb" (which could be literal or figurative). These materials were designed to regulate body teperature and offer resistance to damage by outside forces. Each costume was designed to be functional, and yet work as street cloths as the same time. Layered, undergarments could be worn under "civies" without looking out of the ordenary. Skin's costume consisted of a tank-top undershirt, baggy cargo pants, and a hooded sweatshirt. PHALANX UNIFORM

While trapped by the Phalanx, in the event that formed Generation X, Angelo (along with other future members of Gen X). These uniforms where not created for comfort or style, rather, restraint and study. The uniform was made up entirely of non-sentient "living" technology, designed to study the nature of mutant powers, and transmit that knowledge to the Phalanx hierarchy.

ORIGINAL X-UNIFORM

Okay, so Skin never actually dressed like one of the X-Men. During an early trip to the X- Mansion, many members of Gen X (Synch, M, and Jubilee) chose to dress appropriately in the updated original X-uniform (just like the New Mutants used to wear). However, Skin was the only member present who decided not to, presumably because he didn't want to look like an idiot (he seemed to have swallowed his pride for his masked uniform).

IN THE HOOD

When trying to blend in to the crowd, without drawing attention to his gray, distended epidermis, Skin often wears a large, baggy sweatshirt with hood, usually red. Very inconspicuous and very easy to block the view of anyone trying to identify him.

SCHOOL UNIFORM

Due to the Academy's recent attempts to standardize, including taking such meassures as expanding the school attendance from under a dozen to a few hundred, the kid's of Generation X are forced to wear school uniforms on a daily basis. Most of the kids seem to have adapted well to this, being allowed to fly around the world to fight evil makes up for dressing up for class.

ORIGINAL GANGSTA

Back before Generation X, even before he found out he was a mutant, Angelo Espinoza was another gangsta in the barrios of Los Angeles. There he mainly sported his gang "colors", which were coincidentally the same as the colors of the Generation X uniforms he would wear later.

GREY SUIT

At the schools first formal function, the official orientation of "Mondo" to the Academy. For the formal Skin had to wear a suit for the first time. He remarked that through all of the funerals that he had to attend over the years (most of which related to gang violence), he never once wore a "zoot suit". He swallowed his pride (with the help of Paige's encouragement) and wore a gray tux for the event. Paige was nice enough to help him into it.

SCHOOL DANCE

For the recent school dance, Skin decided he needed to make an entrance with style. Half of this was accomplished by bringing the most beautiful and popular girl in the school, Monet "M" St. Croix, as his date, the other half was done with style. Although it may seem like an odd thing to wear to a formal dance, it takes a guy with guts to make it work for him.

MYSTICAL COSTUME

During an adventure at Banshee's home, Cassidy Keep, the kids of Generation X were transported to a mystical land filled with fairies, dragons, and elves. In this land each visitor was given a new set of clothes upon arrival. Skin was given a peasants shirt and pants, and was equipped with an oxygen mask (to purify the air until the "Glamor Machine" was fixed) and a sword to fight the evil Dragon (see New Life for more on the Dragon). Here we see both Skin and Penance, who was given something other then black wraps to wear for perhaps the first time.

HELLION UNIFORM

For a brief time, the kids of Generation X were trapped in a reality altering enviroment ment to ressemble the Hellions (Emma Frost's former students) last days. In this world the Gen Xers wore the same costumes the Hellions would have (save Chamber, who still had his face-covering mask), standard unstable molecules in the original Massachuttes Academy colors of pink and purple. This is what Skin looked like while trapped in the place of Bevatron, late of the Hellions.

EMPLATE MINION

After Emplate attacked the school during the recent school dance, he succeeded in overcoming half of the Generation X team (including experienced mentor Banshee). Any victim of Emplate can be put in his control, and given red glowing eyes and mouth-like openings in the palms of their hands with which to "sup" the "genetic marrow" of other mutants. After an explosive outburst by Jubilee, Skin and the rest of the team was able to break free.
