March 13-1999 There are so many memories, where could I possibly begin? The first show? A group of friends met in Kansas City to take in a couple of Chris Duarte shows before the grand culmination weekend in Eureka Springs.

Quick bursts of memories: losing folks in airports, napping in the van, comakazes in the airport lounge, being tricked by a DUARTE -LIST member who intentionally described himself wrong, hah! bad boy, bad boy!, silly handcuffs and mistaken identities.

Traveling through a raging snowstorm up through the tiny, twisting mountain roads, we finally did make it to Eureka Springs, Arkansas! Pulling up to the grand Crescent Hotel is a memory in and of iteself, WOW. First impressions: the cat door within the grand doors to the patio...with little cat stairs leading up to it. Christ of the Ozarks! The huge staircase, the beautiful ballroom with the grand proportions, more WOW. Staying up late and talking, talking, talking with my dear, dear friends.

The "power out" show itsel! Yes, a sinking feel in the pit of my stomach when the power failed and it seemed the music wouldn't go on. The elation when the candles were lit and passed around and CDG took the stage. The quiet hush that overtook the room.

Passing fellow guests in the hall, candles in hand, in a HAUNTED hotel, whew. It was a beautiful, magical, never to be forgotten moment and entire weekend! I am happy to keep coming back to experience it over and over again.

My heart sank when the power went out and Chris stepped on stage anyway & I just thought "how Cool is this guy" when he said its OK I can still play and they brought a few candles up beside him and the show went on.

That was something to always remember
