Storms Rip Through North Texas

This Mansfield
home was destroyed
by the overnight
tornado.

MANSFIELD: Cleanup crews surveyed the damage early Saturday after North Texas was battered by severe weather as a tornado touched down and damaged several houses and businesses.

The tornado formed shortly before 10 p.m. Friday and was centered near Mansfield but Cedar Hill and Midlothian officials also received reports of a tornado sighting and there was storm damage in Arlington and Grand Prairie.

No injuries were reported early Saturday, but TXU Electric crews were working to restore power after widespread outages were reported.
