A Cannon
This cannon is on display at the center of Fort Pointe. Until I went to SF, I did not realize that this fort existed. It is located under
the Golden Gate bridge. It was to be torn down to make room for the bridge, but the bridge architect arched some the framework above to
allow this Civil War era fort to remain. |

My First Plane
This was not taken in SF, but it was the first plane I had ever been on. It is a Saab 340B, and it makes runs between Philadelphia and
New York. Up until then, I had never flown, or even been on a plane. It was a bit cramped inside, but still, it was my first flight. |

Old Main
Old Main was once the oldest building of Penn State. It housed all aspects of the school, including dorms, classrooms, and administrative
offices. It was rebuilt in the mid-20th century, using primarily the same layout. Today it is still an important building, mainly for
administrative duties. The office of the president is located here. |

Old Main Belltower
The belltower of Old Main was a class gift. The bells ring hourly, and also chime at 15 minutes intervals. In reality, there are no longer
any bells inside, but instead a speaker system to simulate bells. |

Old Main Inscriptions
On the front of Old Main is inscribed the charter of the university. Penn State was originally an agricultural school, and still maintains an
ag program. Today however, PSU is known more for its engineering and physics departments. |

Squirrel 1
An important part of the Penn State landscape are its squirrels. Unlike squirrels elsewhere, these ones are generally quite tame. You
can usually walk right up to them, and they sometimes approach you, especially when offered food. They do not, however, like to be
touched. Judging by their average sizes (large), the squirrels must have found that appearing docile before students has its benefits. |

Thompson Hall was built as practically the mirror image of Hamilton Hall, which lies across the quad. Thompson is a female-only residence
hall, and Hamilton is male-only. |
