SKY WALKER SCRUNCHIES

The following is from Luke Skywalker's Activity Book, published in 1979.
Page 7 - SKYWALKER SCRUNCHIES
"Yield : 25 Cookies
These delicious crunchy cookies are Luke's favorite. You may want an adult to help you make them.
You'll need :
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter or margarine, softened
2/3 cup sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 1/2 cups corn flakes, lightly crushed (1 1/2 cups crushed)
Preheat oven to 350 F. Lightly grease 2 cookie sheets. In a large bowl cream butter and sugar until well blended. Beat in egg and vanilla. Slowly add flour, mixing thoroughly. Add crushed corn flakes and mix well. Drop dough by level tablespoonfuls on greased cookie sheets about 3" apart. Bake 12-15 minutes, or until golden- brown around edges and top springs back when lightly pressed with fingertip. Remove to rack and cool completely. When you taste them, you'll see why Luke loves these Scrunchies!"

DARTH'S DEATH STAR COOKIES

The following is from the "Star Wars: Darth Vader's Activity Book", published in 1979.
Page 26 - Death Star Cookies

"Yield : 2 Large Death Stars
There's nothing evil about these delicious shortbread cookies. They're quick and easy to make.
You'll need:
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter or margarine, softened
3/4 cup sugar
1 egg
2 cups flour
Preheat oven to 350 F. Lightly grease 2 cookie sheets. In a large bowl, mix the butter and sugar. Beat in egg well. Gradually stir in flour. Gather in a ball. Divide in two halves. Roll each into a ball. Place one ball in the center of one cookie sheet and flatten to 6" in diameter. For decorating, do the following steps and bake for 25 minutes. Now be a hero and destroy Death Star - by eating it!
With your thumb, press in a shallow hole (laser depression).
Make a wide shallow cut across the center of the cookie. Make horizontal lines along the rest of the cookie. Do not cut through hole.
Make shallow vertical lines (in a brick fashion).
Take a fork and make rows of holes across the horizontal lines.
