I've been developing in Java for the past four years. Learning the Java language wasn't hard, but Java technology (in my case J2EE) is much more than just a language: there's a huge API, application servers and frameworkds to name a few things you need to know.
The list of Java technologies I know and use is long, which is a good thing, as it's what I'm earning my money on right now.
