One of the cool things the computer age has brought us is virtual worlds; for one thing, they've made it possible (or at least a heck of a lot easier) for people like me to have a social life. :-) I've spent a fair amount of time online in the virtual worlds of There.com and Second Life.  My There avatar: Aaron_of_Mpls. I've been hanging out in There since February 14, 2006 (2006-02-14). When I'm not playing spades, I like to drive around the There islands and explore a bit. I've made some good friends at the spades tables, and am in many spades clubs. In addition to spades events, I've also often attended the weekly Open Mic Night at Dragon Fire Pub (but it's been a while -- the event host has been busy with other things lately), and occasionally I'll show up at other friends' social events. My main avatar is Aaron_of_Mpls, but I also have an alt named Northman82 (who looks just like my main). My There house is in Miramar, on Caldera Island; I also sometimes have a paz (PortaZone) on Cangrejo. I prefer voice chat to typing.  My Second Life avatar: Aaron Kukulcan. (Note: These pics are pre-WindLight) I created my Second Life account on February 17, 2006 (2006-02-17), but my computer was too old and slow to run SL back then. I entered the SL world for the first time in late May of 2007 (after getting a new computer), and I've been exploring it ever since. I've been re-meeting some people from There (and one from Yahoo Groups), and I've met some new people as well. I'm still on a free account, and haven't had much reason to upgrade (private estates don't require a premium account to own land). When I'm not exploring or hanging out with friends, I tend to hang out at my place in Avendale Ruins. My main avatar is Aaron Kukulcan, and my alt is Northman Carver (who looks much like my main). I sometimes have voice chat on, but I tend to type unless others are using voice (e.g., friends from There). I have a few items for sale, at OnRez and Xstreet SL. I've also taken hundreds of pictures in SL; you can find many of them at Snapzilla, under my snapshots and my albums. Expect this section to grow and change in the future. Last updated on 2008-10-20.
