the Necronomicon

Finally! After 3.5 years of waiting - my copy of the Necronomicon appeared! So I put there facts and theories - no myths. They are on the other Necronomicon page.

What verison do I have? And what's this versions story? My book is of the german version spoken of on the other page. It was found amongst the belongings of late Gregor A. Gregorius (Eugen Grosche) in 1964, after the grandmaster of Fraternitas Saturni died. This copy was on german. My copy has been translated to danish. It was printed in 1994, first edition, first publication, printed only in 2000 copies.
What is little known, is that the nazis (or, more correctly - the SS) was quite into occultism. Whatever that could help them win the war was used - including experiments with occultism. Perhaps especially the Necronomicon. They played around with the rites in the book, and doubtful sources say that UFO-sitings around 1940 -->now is not little green men, but Old Ones manifestating as the result of the nazi playing!
Where Gregorius mangaged to get hold of the Necronomicon, noone really knows...

What *IS* the Necronomicon? It is a novella. Not a black book with spells to raise the dead in particular. The rites are in the book, all right, but it is first and foremost the discoveries of 'the mad arab Abdul Alhazred'.

Did I go crazy, loose my mind, went completely bonkers when I first looked in the book? NO!
-That's just a myth that people go crazy when looking into the book. Several horror movies and novellas mentions the Necronomicon. Amongst this Evil Dead has a reference. But Hollywood movies don't tell the truth unless it is boring and it has a 'based on a real story' sticker on the front - And they might lie even then! The original is most likely lost long time ago, but I can with 99.99% probability say that it WASN'T written on human skin, with blood, in such a language that everyone, no matter nation and languate, understands it! THAT'S BULLSHIT!

I might come back later and write some more about the Necronomicon....
