I am involved in two professional businesses, and have been apart of two almost successful businesses, and of course, I started a youth ministry at my previous church. Both businesses were birthed by people who are dear and close to me. I have taken them on as my own, dedicating myself to the completion of these projects. Power Kidz, Inc. was started in 1999 by my mother, Marlene Clark-James. She has the professional skills, the child-like fun, and the biblical concepts that will make Power Kidz a grand success. Manifested Productions Company (MPC) was started in 2002 by my friend, Wendell Etherly. MPC was a theater production company, with original stage plays. He has been seeking this vision since the age of 16, knowing that writing and creating was his God-given gifts.
My most prized business ventures have been my own: dessin and Positive Affirmations.
I started dessin in February 2004. It is a document design and consulting firm. Mostly with dessin, while I can do just about anything, I create documents, websites, and business cards.
I started Positive Affirmations in October 2006. It was by chance that this business came about. I simply bought a t-shirt from a store around Halloween that said "boo". I went and bought some stencils, and put "God's" over it. So, the shirt read "God's Boo". I wore it to church one Sunday, and the compliments came pouring in. So, with that, God began giving me ideas on other positive words, or affirmations, to put on t-shirts for both men and women. Now, I am up to 19 t-shirt designs. Now, all I need to do is create a plan to get stores to carry my t-shirts. That is the goal!!!
Oh, and a friend recently called me, and asked me if I could help him start a denim jean line for women of color, size 8 and up, with booty and hips. BTW, skinny jeans and low-rise will be outlawed!!! That should be real interesting.
