The Intrepid-class starship is the typical explorer. Smaller than your average starfleet ship, it features a maximum warp speed of Warp 9.975. It also has an excellent maneuverability, and also has variable- geometry warp nacelles. These are very durable starships, capable of traveling many years without docking at a starbase.
