Under Construction-------12/20/01

I just saw the "Fellowship of the Ring" movie, it was so great!!!!!

Anyway, the point of this page is to discuss how J.R.R. Tolkien's Christian beliefs appear in his Lord of the Rings Trilogy. This essay will probably take a while and be revised several times because I love Tolkien's work, and I want to do a good job, but I am a college student who has a lot of other homework to do.

J.R.R. Tolkien was a professor at Oxford University where he was a scholar of ancient european languages and literature. When he wrote "The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings, and the Silmarillian" it stemmed from his passion for creating languages, and his love of heroic myths and legends.

I captured these screen-shots myself from the Rankin/Bass animated version of Tolkien's "Hobbit".
