Terence met Duncan MacLeod in 1786 while chasing a hussy who stole his money. Duncan witnesses this and protects the hussy but in doing so the hussy stole Duncan's horse. After that Terence and Duncan became friends and went drinking at a tavern together. In 1990 Terence marries a woman name Carolyn Marsh. Carolyn wrote a novel in 1996 making Terence the villian and Duncan the hero when she and Terence had a fight. Duncan manages to reunite them even though Terence attacked Duncan with a wooden spoon.
