Sci-Fi World started as Wyn's Homepage. I started writing html using the old Intel: Geocities template, I didn't know much about html until several weeks later. As I progressed through the learning process, I started to read some books like - HTML for Dummies or Beginners HTML. After several months of reading books, asking friends and copying text. I started to write my own html from the plain Windows 98 notebook.
History: Left - My first logo, background copied from Activisions Elite Force Website.
Sci-Fi World (or should I say Wyn's Homepage) was uploaded to www.geocities.com/researchtriangle/forum/2366 on July 1998.
On August 16th 1998, Wyn's Homepage was renamed to Sci-Fi World:
For several months, this logo remained the same and I started to add informative things to my website. This was when we started to
make variations of our website. I had many files at geocities.com and I really needed to backup my website just incase www.geocities.com crashs or goes out of bussiness (very
unlikely these days), so I went to www.freeservers.com and copied the entire website there, Jason also helped me to back up every files on two CDs.(Ha, they will be safe for 100 years) Now, my stuff is safe forever!!
After several days, I finally put frames and a navigator bar on our website. The navigator bar was not yet the SITENAV which I have on Sci-Fi World now, it had
Startrek - LCARS type images as bars and text links between them.
Getting Advanced: Left - My second better designed logo, using lighting and texturing techniques with Corel Draw 8.
Logo Variations: Left - My third logo, nearlly the same as my second but with lesser lighting effects Left - My favorite logo, this is the one I only use on special occasions Left - My New Years Eve logo. This was made by using
blurring effects on Corel Draw Left - Best of the best logo for my site. This the one you have seen on the main page.
When the summer holidays of 1999(before Jason came), I took a good look at my webpage like a normal visitor and was digusted at it's design.
First, I made a new logo:
Second, we redesigned our site with over lapsing table for effect.
Third, we made a new navigator called SFW SITENAV. Right now, it's currently at verson 2.2 Verson 3.0 will come soon!
Now, our site has more information, pictures and more music files than before.
